Contact name at Escape
I will be picking up a used escape in Idaho at the end of this month. It does not have a front storage box. I would like to have one added. I have called escape but seems I only could talk to a receptionist. She wasn’t real helpful. Is there a name and number of someone I could contact to see if I could weasel this project out of them. As I have read on the forum they are not too thrilled about doing aftermarket additions or alterations. But I’d like to give it a shot! Thank you and you’ll be hearing more from me once I have acquired my escape!

I have had a good response from Gina in After Sales Support, partsandservice@escapetrailer.com
If you call just ask for her.

You are going to need a lot of weaseling. The fact that they don't do aftermarket adds anymore they won't even ship you one to add yourself. You may be able to drive up and pick one up to add yourself I haven't seen that question asked here.

I needed a drawer front for a modification to our trailer. Gina arranged for one to be sent to me at very reasonable cost. On another occasion, we stopped by ETI and Gina gave us some trim. I would contact her.

So you were hoping to take your used Escape to ETI, buy a tongue box, and have them install it.
If they're reluctant to work on a used Escape it's absolutely no biggie. On my 21 I'd forgotten to ask for my "returning customer" free box until the last minute and I hadn't ordered one as I planned to make my own as I had on previous trailers.
They asked if I wanted them to install it before I got there but I said no, as I never liked the forward slope. To me it looks like the box is falling forward.
The moral of the story is that it only takes a few minutes to install a box. The brackets with holes are welded to the frame. Basically, put box in place, slide under and drill up through the bottom of the box, insert 4 bolts and be on your way. So if they decline installing the box, DIY right in their parking lot before you drive off.

Thank you all for the responses. The difficulty of installing it myself is that the batteries are on the tongue. I’ll give Gina a call and see what happens. Thanks again!

That shouldn't be an issue. In 2014 when I ordered my 19 I saw that their way of supporting the batteries was by welding on two angle iron cross pieces. Since I was fabricating my own tongue box and the angle iron was pointing up I asked them not to weld them on. They screwed them on instead, making them easily removable. I noticed later on other trailers that they seemed to still be doing that.
So, hopefully ETI will accommodate your request but if not, you still have the DIY option.

So here’s the outcome. Gina at Escape was very helpful. Escape will sell me the front storage box for $1000 CAD. She referred me to Adventure RV, apparently just down the street from them for installation. Unfortunately the soonest Adventure can get me in is the end of November. I will be purchasing the trailer from the current owners, in Idaho, the end of this month. I have several other obligations prior to that time. So, it appears that if I still feel I need or want the storage box I will have to do it in the spring. I’m concerned about weather going into December. That’ll be a 1000 mile drive one way. This got complicated!

Are you sure she didn't quote you in US dollars. If you look at their pricing estimator the box for a 17 is close to $1500 CAD

I picked up mine loose and could put it in the back of the truck to take it home. If you don't have space to do that and don't want to install it yourself how about just setting it on top of the battery box and securing it with ratchet straps.
They are very handy to have and it'd be a shame to have to drive all that way back to pick one up or end up going without.

Gina gave me an email quote of $1000 CAD. Plus tax. I may just make a vacation out of it and head back that way in the spring. I really would like to have the additional storage.

Strike while the iron is hot CharlieJ and go get it. Take the trip mile by mile. That $1000 deal might go away by spring.

Yep, I would be willing to bet cash money that the price will be much higher by next spring. And I'm not really a gambler.

I’d see if you can pay for it now and pick it up up at your convenience. That way you don’t have to worry about a price increase .
