Decorating Your Escape
Now that I have my Escape home I am looking for ways to make it feel more comfortable and "homey". Since I bought a model the valances and cushion covers could be covered if it's not too expensive. With the soft walls you can't really hang anything on them. What else can be done? If you have any ideas on decorating your trailer please send them or even better post photos.
Thanks everyone

We changed all the cabinet hardware (and in the process of changing the hinges) to a different, black style. It coordinates with the black fridge, furnace, and countertop edge banding a little better.

I have changed the lighting, both inside and outside for better night time visibility and decoration.

Changing the fabric to your choice will give you that homey feel. You also could change the trim colour around the counter and table. Put some rugs on the floor. Pick a nice cover for the bed. And add some throw pillows.
Find the studs in the walls to hang some hooks, to hang stuff you like.
If you want to save costs and like an open feel, take the valances totally out. That's what we did, and very happy with it,
Decorating your trailer is fun. Enjoy making your new home home!!!

While the vinyl walls don't lend themselves to hanging objects, they do work for "WallPops." I put a map on my galley wall but there are other designs available for a custom look:

Karen,
Do those remove easily from the wall vinyl if needed?

I haven't tried lately but my first attempt at attaching it turned out wonky so I very easily peeled the whole thing off and applied it a second time. It has a dry-erase finish (the map comes with a marker) so it is very easy to clean.
I don't know if the "glue" sets up over an extended period. My trailer is in storage for the summer so can't try it now.
Edited: Oh, the website says "Repositionable and always removable."

The ad for wall pops says "repositionable", and "won't leave any residue"

It's the white area all under snow. As it was I had to cut off parts of Florida and Texas...no loss there ( ) as the chances of me ever camping there are slim to none. Mostly none.

Thanks for all the ideas. I really should start spending more time on learning to drive, fill tanks, etc and less on decorating
Thanks again. I'm sure I'll steal some ideas

We've hung up some artwork in our 17b on the outside of the bathroom door, and along the front drivers side where the single dinette is using the 3M Velcro strips, they've worked great, and are completely removable (carefully albeit to avoid wrecking the veneer). It's our home away from home, and are loving making it uniquely ours. Do what makes you happy, for sure.

I have a stuffed polar bear on a small shelf, otherwise the decorating is mostly in the way we finished the trailer, the fabric, laminate, flooring, and choices of fixtures we made.
Will likely just add a few knickknacks that can be changed up now and then. We did at throw pillows, shower curtain and stuff like that. I doubt there will ever be a lot of stuff "stuck" to the walls, but you never know.........

You need to include a picture. I'm amazed you could get a stuffed polar bear through the door, much less onto a small shelf. Do you have any problems at the boarder? Inquiring minds.
Thanks.

I want a stuffed Moose in ours. If Jim can get a polar bear in, then I certainly should be able to get a Moose in.

My brother has a Moose Crossing sign on his trailer, a pet name for his wife. (He is dear)
Leon and Lindy have a Mountain Goat head in their trailer.
