Re: Do the fridge LED lights keep you awake at night??

Fridge Lights aren't a problem. We have to unplug our Jensen LED TV at night because the Blue "ready" LED is so bright. But that is no big deal. Also, the water pump LED is kind of bright, but it also works as a night light when crawling over Lindy and trying to avoid stepping on Murphy-The-Dog.

Click and Clack (the NPR car guys) suggest using electrical tape to cover up "check engine" lights that are malfunctioning. So maybe you could do that. Otherwise, you could try some sort of stage lighting gel (Jon V. mentioned it in a recent post), and putting it on the inside of the little plastic cover over the LEDs.

Re: Do the fridge LED lights keep you awake at night??

I have no idea what lights you guys are referring to.

I don't have my water pump turned on unless is is use. I didn't get the stereo install, and if there is a fridge light, I have not noted it.

I did put a spot-it light in the bath so I didn't have to turn on a bright light and wouldn't miss the toilet in the middle of the night.

Maybe my 2088 17B isn't as advanced as yours.

Maybe it's time to see the light. Them new fridge lights 89 and newer are like tractor beams. One look and you won't hit anything for a least an hour.

Re: Do the fridge LED lights keep you awake at night??

The water pump light is the light in the pump switch. I leave it on because sometimes I need to use a bit of water after I crawl over Lindy, step on the dog, and fumble my way to the w.c. My understanding is that if the pump is off, there is no pressure, and since the pump doesn't run unless you need water, I just leave it on.

The blue light is the one on the television so if your tv doesn't have a LED indicating it is 'ready', or if your tv is some place besides the foot of the bed, you won't have that issue. Our stereo has a soft glow from the clock--but it is very dim.

I have thought about getting a motion activated night light for the bath room. If I could find one that sticks on, I might give it a try.

Re: Do the fridge LED lights keep you awake at night??

A motion sensor light would be great if they come in 12V.It may even fit where the existing one is.
The thing about the red pump light is that I have to stop it from spinning around the trailer before I can switch it off.
I think I'll try some tinted plastic under the control cover to dim the fridge lights. Sounds like a good solution

Hi: All...Isn't it ironic how such a small light during the day becomes a beacon at night. The green light from the Co2 detector becomes a night light as bright as any runway light. As for the bathroom... I changed the 8W bulb to a 4W ( Noma garden light) so I don't spend the rest of the night seeing purple spots!!! Alf

Its funny because these sort of things never used to bother me, but is our last trailer the display on the stereo was insainly bright, like it totaly illuminated the inside of the trailer at night, the simple solution was i pulled the fuse on one sleepless night. the stupid thing was a piece of junk that we didn't use anyway.

Re: Do the fridge LED lights keep you awake at night??

Maybe a little fingernail polish of a similar color (blue for the blue lights, red for the red lights, amber, etc....) painted over the lens will help obscure it enough without actually illiminating it....so that it still serves it's purpose while not bothering the occupants.

No experience at this.....just kind of thinking out loud. No, thinking through the keyboard.

So JC, is this blue and red nail polish something you carry with you all the time?

Re: Do the fridge LED lights keep you awake at night??

It's crazy.. isn't it.. how one thing can just fixate the moment.. But under the guise of necessity it can be a life saver.. We need to leave a night light on for Sammy (our Border collie ) so that he won't freak out in the RV.. So a small light vs. a relentless 60lb dog who wants out... hmmm I can sleep with a night light..

Re: Do the fridge LED lights keep you awake at night??

Please excuse us (Alf and I)...with short attn spans,
we obviously get off subject too easily : - )
The thread is about those darn LED's keeping you awake all night!
In the 5.0, we are above all that (literally), and don't have our faces turned toward the frig. Now Alf may find himself looking in the frig sometime during the night, but that is voluntary.
Seems the simple answer..... sleep with your heads on the refrig side (think that was already suggested...so you're not looking at the lights) or get a 5.0 : - )
