Does your bathroom door rattle?

Does the privy door rattle, even a little, as -or when- it's closed? I installed two sticky rubber feet, one centered about 20mm (3/4 inch) rom the top, one an inch from the bottom, and now it closes with that satisfying Mercedes "clunk!"

I found clear pads very similar to the ones used opposite the existing cabinetry handles at Orchard Supply Hardware: clear, stick on buttons about 10mm round and 5mm high. I put them on the inward facing door face, striker side, but they could also go in the door frame outside the bathroom facing the door, just clear of the moulding.

I think the key is not having any right at the striker. That way the closing force is distributed all the way into the corners, making it clunk!

Re: Does your bathroom door rattle?

Hi: memobug... Matt... Yes to the door closing. I think ours is warped out at the bottom due to the 1X2" framing and panel board covering used for weight savings.
So far we have had no trouble with the door coming open during towing but I will try adding the clear cabinet door bumpers above and below the striker to firm it up!!! Thanks Alf

Re: Does your bathroom door rattle?

Sometimes it is simply a matter of adjusting the catch on the wall. We found when we were showing trailers at an RV show....so many people didn't know to push the button to open the door...they pull on the handle for a while before realizing the button. This usually resulted in some play in the door by the end of each day.

Re: Does your bathroom door rattle?

No my door dose not rattle.
I have seen the button so I push it.
I now see the screen (door).
My wife tied on a 6" neon red ribbon at eye level,
so I don,t walk into it in the dark anymore.
( If I could only see my glasses)

Re: Does your bathroom door rattle?

And then there is the problem with the flashlight.

You need one to find one.
