We purchased a 2018 Escape 19 that came with the power awning. The awning works fine but to me it is flimsy and I wish I had the old fashioned manual awning. The auto wind retraction works. You can not give it any pitch to shed rain or block wind or rain coming from the side. If the need arises you cannot manually deploy this awning. Similarly if it won't retract the method for doing that is a pain and you are dead in the water until you go to an RV repair center. What is involved in replacing it with a manual awning? ( As a long time boat owner I hate drilling into gelcoat) Would Escape sell me one? We have frameless windows. Would there be enough clearance to open windows when awning is retracted?
