The rolled pin also means its more secure -you can't easily remove it, and that could be a problem in some situations. I recall watching Reace help a camper who had locked themself out of their Escape. He pulled the hinge pins and removed the door to get in. Not an option with these. You could just unscrew the hinges, but that's wear and tear on the fiberglass, and risking the enlarging of the holes. Of course, it would only have to be done on the door side.

Morning Robert yes the pin is more secure, which means it won't fall out , but you could just remove the screws on the hinge ,and your inside the trailer . Another mod down the line some sort of alarm for door . Pat

Hinges were delivered! Gosh these are pretty... if you can call hinges pretty Oliver owners often call all the polished stainless hardware on their trailers jewelry. Well, Ten Forward will have jewelry now too

Thanks Pat for doing the investigation leg work!

Ours came in and look great, kudos Pat! Now just have to finish Spring maintenance and get these installed. Also got the new Liberty hinges for the bathroom to work on as well as a long awaited surprise.

Put the hinges on this morning and the holes line up perfectly, but the hinge is about 1/8 inch longer. Moved the door to the left just enough so the latch plate drops into the door hole and the door will not open. So I replaced the top hinge with the original and solved that. Time to get out the Dremel and file the latch plate down a bit.
As an aside: I think someone with an electric screw gun could open the locked door almost as fast I can with the key. Something to think about.

Very true, since the hinge screws are exposed. The alternative is to dab a little solder or epoxy into the screw head holes. But, you're committed then. No easy way to remove the door if needed.

Didn't go back and search the thread to see if someone already mentioned it...

Just replaced the hinges, noticed AFTER I removed a hinge that 2 of the screws are shorter then the others. Unlike me, pay attention.

Captmath, mine were exactly the same layout as the original and went on easily (with ProFlex in each hole) ... seems odd that yours were different. Can you post a picture of one old and one new hinge together? I would wait to modify the latch until you can figure out what is going on. Bill

Hinges

Here is a picture
If you look at the pic on the right you will see that the new hinge on the bottom is almost exactly 1/8 inch longer than the old hinge on top. Both new ones are the same. I got out the tape measure and got the same answer.
