Question Door Latch broken on fridge Dometic Americana 3-Series Model RM2354

Hi Escape owners forum,
My door latch is broken on the fridge in our Escape 17B. Its a Dometic Americana 3-Series Model RM2354, 3 way 3 cu ft. Dometic sent me a replacement latch but no instructions on how to remove the old latch or put in the new one. I can see that I am going to have to take off the cover plate but its all made out of plastic and I don't want to go around prying anything and breaking the plastic cover.
Does anyone have any experience with changing one out? I've requested instructions but did not receive them yet from Dometics.
Thanks so much.
Sincerely,
Cedar

When you lift the plastic cover over the control panel you will see two holes. There is a Phillips head screw in the bottom of each hole. Once you unscrew those the plastic housing will come off and the latch will be exposed.

Hello Viajante,
Thanks for the info. My question is how to get that plastic cover off without breaking it? Is there a place to insert a flat head screwdriver and pop it off? I know it should be obvious but I just can't see to get that plastic plate off. Any tips you have would be awesome!
Thanks,
Cedar

Hello #2 Viajante,
Ok, so I apologize for wasting your time. I went out into the trav tray and took the flashlight and looked around for the holes with philips screws in them. Low and behold, in a totally different place that I imagined, there they were. I am now going to attempt to change the latch.
Thank you so much for your great answer, it was me who wasn't paying attention very well.

Thumbs up Yay! Its fixed

I took Viajante's advice to finding the way to remove the plastic panel covering the door latch on my fridge. It was easy to do. It was also super easy to take off the broken latch and replace it with the new one. Thanks so much for the help!

Yay! Its fixed.
I guess this thread can be removed if that is what happens when the questions are answered and problems solved.
