Can you please post a picture of the knobs....wondering if the old ones can be switched out?

I have three drawers above each other. The top one would occasionally open so I use a very thin bungee cord through all three drawer pulls to keep them all secure.

Those new window knobs look nice. I called and spoke with Dustin at Escape. He says that Hehr windows was bought out by Lippert who now makes the newer windows. Boy I can not stay ahead of the improvements being done to the Escape. Anyway, he thought it was doubtful that one would work with the other and they do not stock just the knobs right now. Perhaps later we can experiment.

Unhappy Sliding contents broke hinges

Just returned from desert camping, and the undulating Sendario Road in rural Tucson area caused the contents of the lower cabinets under the sink to slide around, destroying hinges on the doors. How does anyone keep the contents from sliding?!? The good news was the refridge door stayed closed, though, so the spaghetti sauce didn’t end up
Commingling with the skillet and tea pot on the floor as they popped out of the cabinets.

This old Escape valiantly rode the waves but next time, I fear for the water pipe under the sink. I had stuff padded and rug anti-slip sheets lining the shelves. AND we were gentle with speed!

Marcia, one device that can help restrain things in both refrigerators and cabinets is adjustable spring-tension 'refrigerator bars'. Available in several types and sizes, here's a link that may be of interest: google search results for 'refrigerator bars'

Hope that helps, Good Luck, Have Fun!

Thanks, Centx. Haven’t tried those for the horizontal ( to trailer body) slide. Any suggestions for the vertical application in that bigger cabinet under the sink?

Not sure if this will help but when we travel, I store things like my smaller dinette throw pillows & blankets, oven mitts, extra clean towels, etc in the cabinets that have extra space to help hold things in place. I also use those spring bars that Alan suggested.

Another idea might be to use pool noodles, cut to size, to help hold things down horizontally or vertically inside. I saw someone do that here to secure their microwave plate in place so this approach might also work to help secure things in your bigger cabinet?? Amazing all the ways one can use pool noodles! Good luck with your quest. -Bea

We use pool noodles and the rubbery shelf liner under things that tend to slide.

We simply used small Velcro straps to secure galley doors.
And installed child laches in the drawers.

Thanks to all. After repairs, I’ll set to prevention remedies.

We use child locks for our under sink and under bed doors. The u-shaped locks are easy to put on and take off and have been quite effective thus far. http://mobileimages.lowes.com/produc....jpg?size=pdhi

I fastened a 1x2 board on edge across the bottom of the under-sink cabinet. I did the same thing with our full height "tall drawer stack" cabinets.

I then installed cardboard boxes about 4-inches tall that fit snugly into the cabinets.

This prevents objects from sliding across the bottom of the cabinets and banging into the doors.

I also doubled up on all of the cabinet latches. It may not be necessary, but it made me feel better.

hi holly just finished road trip and the only draws opening on my 21 c were the smaller pull drawers -- installed child proof latches for 6 bucks at walmart in baby section with plenty of extras left over.... worked great on a very bumpy 20 mile road at 10 to 20 mph--- but also they used to open just on mountain roads-- the bigger cabinets just bought adjustable cafe curtain rods to hold in place objects that might push the doors open-- easy peasy

Thanks Mike, Guidoi and everyone! I knew there were others preventing this type of damage and who had the solutions! Mike, I also think your double cabinet latches are a good idea. But all this does make me wonder if I should write to ETI and suggest that the "flooring" on the cabinets be made with a type of coating that discourages sliding. If for no other reason, those exposed water pipes need protection.

Just get plastic boxes to put stuff in and attach Velcro to the bottoms of the boxes and to the floor.
I've had plastic boxes ( no Velcro ) under my sink for 12 years and had no issues with plumbing.
I tried that non-slip material in my top cupboards and it ended up all bunched up on one side, along with dishes.

Yes. The nonslip material is a no go. Makes a nice roll on its own slipping out from under the stuff you don’t want slipping around.

Thanks for another good idea.
