I can see how bringing batteries inside the 17 with the undersized dinette could be problematic. There just isn't enough room. The standard size dinette is no problem. For Escape it's probably easier to just say no rather than having that option available for some floor plans and not others. As others have said, that decision kind of takes the "you" out of "built for You."

But if that's the case, how about offering lockable battery boxes for those like myself who got two, expensive, lithium batteries? After investigating locking battery boxes, I would have to get either custom or prefab boxes and have them welded on to the bumper. Much cheaper to move them inside. Now that my batteries are under the PS dinette bench and very secure, I use the battery boxes to store wheel chalks and other items of low value to thieves. I carry spares chalks in other places just in case.
