We also had a trailer hitch issue when we picked up our new E19 last novermber in Sacramento. I had read all the E2 hitch instructions and followed them carefully while attaching the trailer to our Kia Telluride. However, after lowering the trailer coupler onto the ball, the coupler locking mechanism would not clamp down properly. Being a newbie to trailers, I assumed I was doing something wrong, and spent 2hrs trying and re-trying to lock the coupler. Finally called Escape and they suggested that the coupler clamp/lock had gotten bent in transit (No evidence for this; i'm pretty sure it was manufactured incorrectly). However, since others had had similar problems, i had brought a sledge hammer and large file along to pickup. i ended up hammering on the coupler lock to move it back into position (about 1/4") and after that, it locked perfectly. I can assure you that i felt pretty weird banging away with a sledge hammer on my brand new trailer! I'm now learning that trailers are a different beast than new cars, and you need some handyman skills to keep them running! Ps. we do love the E19 now and it tows beautifully behind our Kia Telluride (well, except that we're a bit slow up really steep grades
But so far, i can recommend the Telluride as a good combo TV as well as around town ride.
