Just FYI the Echo uses a "Triple-axis, motion-sensing accelerometer for highly responsive, smooth stops" that's integral with its
hardware component, totally independent of and non-reliant on whatever motion sensors are in the smartphone running the app. This is what allows the unit to function, albeit without manual over-ride capability, even if the phone
or it's connection
fails for whatever reason (as long as the Echo unit is properly seated in a functioning 7-pin socket).
