Electric pedestal issue

Can't seem to do search function on iPad so will post this question. Was at rv park in jackpot, didn't unhook tow. Plugged into pedestal. Surge protector said "off" several times then went blank. Didn't need electric with solar so non issue but was worried killed something. Came home, plugged in & everything correct now. Again non issue now but for future hookups what is procedure for knowing pedestal is working as it should? I know the answer is somewhere in here but again don't have search option available. Tia.

That's a first for me. The EMS (HW50C) doesn't have an error code called "OFF". Did you verify there was power at the pedestal (breaker ON)?

A small plug in tester comes in handy for this. I carry one in the trailer.

By the way, here are the error codes the EMS will display, and their meaning.

EDIT: Did a little research. If the display reads "OFF" you have turned the EMS off and are in bypass mode. It will only display OFF for a few seconds then it will go blank. You must have hit the switch? By the way, it's the opposite of most switches - UP is OFF, and DOWN is ON.

Thanks for your response. Haven't changed anything since pu. The numbers etc were worn off the pedestal switches so couldn't tell. Flipped them up. Will look up how to use tester on YouTube as don't know how to use. Am novice electrician. Dad worked for power company in Idaho. Wish I would have him here now.

Just to clarify, the switch I was referring to in my edit is the tiny switch on the EMS display - not the breaker switch at the pedestal. You may have accidentally turned it off. That's the only time the display will read "off" according to the documentation I can find.
