To pad out the poor door fit. I used some heavy black rubber gasket, with an adhesive on it(In the same place as the backer strips, at Lowe's). I fitted & tapered on the ends, tucked under the old, & pull paper piece off. I figure it wouldn't fall out with use, with the adhesive.

Hi Paul
On your lock set, that style of latch when used on service truck storage boxes is called a paddle slam latch. Might be fine for a service truck but it’s annoying and somewhat disconcerting to have to slam a trailer door. On both our 2010 and our 2013, I serviced the lock by removing the screws on the inner plate. from there you can pull the plate. That will reveal the sliding mechanism which I lubricate with Tri-Flow original. There are two flat head machine screw that are visible inside. These work loose from the slamming. I firmly tighten them back down with a medium sized flat blade screwdriver and put things back together. I check anything else for tightness and put a little Tri Flow on the dead bolt too. Done in the spring I can usually get the season out of the lubrication. While I’m at it, I clean and spray the awning tracks too as well as the storage box locks and the two little padlocks I have on my front storage box. I do not use loctite inside of the door latch on the screws as it’s made of plastic and the screws are metal and the loctite I have says not to use on plastic.
Looking forward to September camping and on into the fall. Hope all is well with you.

Thanks Dave,
Just the description I wanted. I could bend the strike plate but that has more implications. Looks like I have all the proper lubricants. Next week I will have a report on the results.
