If you were to cut those cable ties and pinch the tubing in your fingers it would “zip” right off of the two wires. And in fact that’s what you do when you change the brakes if you do the backing plate and all. But for now if you want A little tighter fit you can use some black electricians or some small zip ties. You do not have a safety problem. My compliments to you for the self inspection and the due diligence in asking questions and getting answers. The connection to the main trailer brake electrical feed is about a foot back from the backing plate. If you would happen to find a brake not working check those connections, there have been instances of a “bad crimp”.
