ETI instructional videos

I don't know if everyone is aware that Reace has been making some short videos showing how to deal with common issues and posting them on the ETI YouTube channel. He did several in the past few days showing the process for removing the furnace and replacing the sail switch and circuit board for both the old style furnace which requires removing it inside the trailer, and the new style which is much easier to access through the exterior door.

There are a few other ones as well, and I'll bet a bunch more in the works. It's worth subscribing to ETI's YouTube channel to be notified every time they post a new one:

Thanks, David, as I didn't realize ETI had a YouTube channel. Will check it out!

While this is a good link to have, you might consider weaning out or combining like stickies, as there is getting to be quite a lot of them with no real order to them. Just a thought.

I hope Reace makes more of these. There's no shortage of "how-to" videos on YouTube, many of questionable quality though. It's pretty cool to have the founder of the company, who knows these trailers better than anyone, doing a step by step video to show how to deal with common problems. Since we're in Texas a quick trip back to Escape to fix something won't be an option and I really appreciate these videos.

Seeing how accessible the new furnace is makes me a lot less concerned about possible sail switch problems, looks pretty easy to address. When we pick up our new 5.0TA I'll probably grab an extra sail switch if they have spares in stock and just stick in my tool kit. Having a spare part on hand almost always guarantees that part will never fail

Unfortunately that's not possible with the current version of the software. There are no subfolders. If we tried it, all the stickies would be in ONE massive thread.

There a lot things that could be done both here and over on FGRV as improvements, but as Donna points out, our hands are tied. Until new software becomes available, we have to leave things the way they are.

Stickies can be edited. Maybe have a few with labels like "Mechanical" or the like, and list the pertinent links in that first post to the threads or websites that they now go to. When another one comes up, just edit and add it to that first post of a thread.

I have been thinking of doing something like this at FGRV, though it has a much larger membership, and a lot less stickies. I think having too many stickies loses it's advantage, as just using the search function ends up becoming faster.

Makes me wonder whether we should be carrying a spare sail switch. After watching Reace's video about the heater and his description of the fan sucking in/recirculating air from the trailer, I wonder if those of us with dogs aren't sucking in a bunch of hair/fur as well.

My only problem with the videos is that the sound is very poor, otherwise I think they are a great idea and thankful Reace is doing them.

This is why I love this company! I actually discovered escape and added them to my list of trailers to research after finding their "How it's made" video on youtube.

I was looking for a small trailer (not a truck anchor) that was simple and manageable. Looking I came across a site featuring small units, I found a Scamp, Casita and others along with Escape, and then I rested...

The nice thing with an Escape is you will not lose value as with conventional trailers, they hold their value far longer and after owing 3 in 6 years I can say this. In addition the exchange rate right now is favorable for a purchase, 3 years from now, who knows.
