exterior Led light strip

This light strip situated below the awning is activated by a remote control and at the end of last camping season the remote didn't work to turn on the lights. Either the 3V lithium battery in the remote is dead or the light strip is not receiving the signal from the remote. We cannot figure out how to locate the receiver for the signal on the light strip and cannot figure out how to remove the battery from the remote. There are clips at both ends of the battery, 2 plastic ones at one end and a gold coloured metal one at the other end.
Any suggestions to solve our problem?
Thanks, Aki and Wendy

The receiver is located in the passenger side rear overhead cabinet. It is enclosed in some wire looming and fastened up near the ceiling.

If you gently insert a needle or very thin screwdriver here it will pop out.

Thanks Eggscape, we now know that the battery in the remote isn't the problem.
Thanks nepaweb, as you can see in the first photo, there is now a panel covering a cavity where the wiring is. The opening into the cavity isn't very big, but I managed to take a photo. We both felt around the cavity, but neither of us could find the receiver. When tugging gently on the wires, they had very little movement.
We've contacted Escape for help, but would appreciate suggestions from others.
