Yes, glue down cork is amazing stuff. I put some down in a heavily travelled hallway over 20 years ago. Gave it a flood coat of sealer and figured that was something that I'd have to do every couple of years. Never had to do anything and it still looks great.

Don't beat yourself up unnecessarily. I've just finished helping a friend get his condo ready to sell. Since a new floor was being paid for by insurance we had it done by a flooring company. Luxury vinyl plank. First day the crew called and said the interlock was defective and they had to rip out what they'd installed! We ended up with another product but aside from a slight wow factor when you first walk in it's not all that great. If you looked closely you could see things that weren't quite right.

So maybe you did the best you could with what you had.

Like anything else I think there is a wide scale in the quality of vinyl planks out there. My installer will only work with Ferma and COREtec. The installations that I have seen with these two products look amazing and are holding up to abuse from kids, pets, etc.

Ditched The Dreadful Stock Floor

Our stock vinyl was great on our 2010 17B, yet pretty awful on our 21 with the faux grout lines and Roman tile look with raised profile characteristics. Makes cleaning difficult and it is so thin we had some splits very soon after pick up.

Found a commercial sheet vinyl that was similar to our 17B with a homogeneous pattern. This is Armstrong Corlon Desert Sand and has a Terrazzo pattern. Decided I wasn't up to cutting all the nooks & crannies and paid someone to do it.

Looks great! Did they put it directly over the old stuff and did they have to use a leveller product?

Right on top and with a leveler, otherwise the grout lines would eventually telegraph to the new vinyl. Asked installer and mfg about loose lay and both said no.
