Frameless thermal window keeps opening

5.0 TA frameless thermal window keeps opening by itself while towing. How can this problem be resolved?

Cut a slice of pool noodle. Insert between knob and window frame.

and you can use the remaining part of the pool noodle behind your dinette cushion or around your bed....

Any kind of foam cushion will work, just a small piece wedged in around the crank knob keeps it from working open during travel.

Wrapping a small sock around the crank also worked fine when we first encountered the problem...foam looks nicer.

Frameless Window Crank on 2020 Escape

We received our 5.0 last week and are prepping for our first trip starting labor day. Thought I'd proactively secure the frameless windows to avoid having them inadvertently open while in transit. The window cranks have changed however and the "noodle solution" doesn't prevent the crank from opening. We are trying to come up with other solutions, but thought i'd check to see if perhaps the new crank is a window modification designed to prevent this issue all together. Anyone have these new cranks and had them open in transit?

That would be cool if Escape sent out the new knobs to the owners who have frameless windows and the problem of opening while traveling. We used the noodle fix but it is a funky solution. We have a 2019 5.0 ta

We have the new knobs and have traveled several thousand miles with them. Never had one open. If it became a problem, I can imagine a solution where you would drill a small hole through the knob handle and straight into rear plastic plate then push a pin or even a cut off nail in. This would keep knob from spinning. Maybe a chip clip would work. Just saying.

I have the old knobs but I use a piece of foam bedtopper which is squishier than the pool noodle. i think it would work on the new knobs.

I took a scrap of left over fabric from our custom fabric and tied wraps around the threads on the window opening mechanism. At first I would totally unwind it to open the window. Now I don't tie the wrap as tight, it is there just to apply friction, and open the window with the wrap in place. Visitors just thought the ties were decoration since they were the same fabric as the upholstery. We have 2 windows that will open slightly without the fabric wrap.

Which knobs do you have? The ones shown in reply 4 or reply 5 above?
