Fresh water gauge shows empty

We have SeeLevel II tank monitoring in our 2021 5.0TA. It has been working fine. However, in our first camping trip of 2024, the fresh water level remained stuck at 0 even when there was significant (at least 1/2 a tank) water in the fresh water tank.

We have now put the camper back in storage (so will not be able to follow up on any ideas quickly) but I am looking to see if anyone has some easy things we can check ourselves. Otherwise we have to take it to some RV repair shop / technicians.

Any advice is appreciated.

IIRC your trailer has spray-foam insulation so the sensor and wiring under the trailer is likely buried in that (not conveniently visible for eyes-on inspection)? The sensor-strip (a circuit board) should be located on the side of the tank near the drain-petcock (driver side rear) with wires running though the trailer floor near the clear suction-hose-hole seen under the driver side bench seat (below the pump).

To the extent you can see them, look for any discontinuity in the thin wires, it might be that rather than a sensor failure.

All of the sensor wires are joined so only 2-wires input at the display panel. Given that only 1 tank is affected methinks the problem does not lie in the display unit itself (though that is possible).

Good Luck!

Thank you so much! We do indeed have spray foam insulation. I suppose that will impact the ease of finding and rectifying this problem. We will likely take another camping trip and see if the problem goes away but will likely have to engage a repair shop otherwise.

Really appreciate your pointers!
