Fridge died -- now looking for circuit breakers

I screwed up and killed my RMD8555 fridge. It was running a bit warm and I tried to re-enable the fans. I turned the fridge off but forgot to shut off 12V and line voltage. Now the fridge won't start up again; its control panel is dead.

I replaced the 20A fuse in the trailer's circuit breaker panel and the 5A fuse in the back of the fridge (neither apeared to be blown), and flipped all the breakers in the trailer's panel and on the power "bush" to the trailer. No joy. Is there another breaker that I am missing?

BTW- that 5A fuse in the back is labeled "5 0X"; it's the same color as a 5A fuse so I assumed that's what it was. Am I correct?

Did you try pushing reset button- far right under triangle?

Yes, I tried pushing reset. There is no power at all going to the control panel; it's all dark.

From somewhere I got a PDF of the service manual that is supposed to be for this thing. Its photos bear no relation to what I see when I open the outside side vent to the fridge. It's like trying to operate on a human using the anatomy guide for a manatee.

I looked at both the manual and into the side vent. The troubleshooting part makes no mention of no power and could not see any other reset button looking inside after removing side vent. Wish I could be more help.

The only other breakers I have is inside a grey Siemens box with two 15A breakers. Not sure what they are for.

I bought one of those Coleman PowerChill powered coolers just in case something happened to the fridge. So I'm cooking up the stuff that was in the freezer compartment and I'll store it in the PowerChill after the cooked food cools off. At least that's a plan.

I also have a five-liter box of wine to get me through situations like this. So I'm prepared.

I'd check for 12v at the terminal block on the back of the fridge, easily accessible on mine. If it's there, it's the fridge.

The only way I'll miss that eclipse is if (1) it is overcast, which is unlikely, or (2) Kim Jong Un lands one on top of me. I am determined, and as a former federal bureaucrat I know the power of being able to Sit & Wait. So I'll be here, ready and waiting on eclipse day.

When the biggest problem one has is a recalcitrant trailer fridge, then life is pretty good. I'm happy to be retired.

I was busy in my job, but I learned that some situations would resolve themselves if I just waited and let things sort themselves out. That's probably true for a lot of jobs.

My job involved breaking big, expensive stuff in the course of testing it. Wish I could get out of the habit.

I guess I am not understanding how you killed it. Since we share many of the same refrigerator miseries I wanted to be sure not to repeat yours. How are the fans a part of the failure? Since I have the fans on a manual switch could I do the same thing by failing to have the switch on or off when starting the refrigerator?

The refrigerator requires 12 VDC to run in any of the three modes
( 120 VAC , 12 VDC and propane . The refrigerator control board requires 12 VDC . The control board has a 12 VDC low voltage sensor which shuts down the refrigerator if the DC voltage gets below a certain point . If you are attempting to run the refrigerator on the battery and the battery voltage is below the cutoff off point the refrigerator control board will not light. If you are plugged into shore power , and your converter is operating properly then the converter will supply the 12VDC to operate the refrigerator.
When my trailer battery failed (Shorted Cell ) the refrigerator control board would not light but the 12 V lights and fan continued to operate.
The low voltage sensor in the refrigerator is designed to shut down so that you don't completely drain your trailer battery.
If you are on shore power ( 120 VAC) and the refrigerator is not working , I would suggest as others have to check for 12 VDC at the terminal strip at the rear of the refrigerator.
If 12 VDC is not present at the terminal strip then the problem is between the strip and the converter
If 12 VDC is present at the terminal strip then the problem lies between the strip and the refrigerator
( Loose connection , bad thermal cutout , blown fuse , bad control board , tripped reset , defective on and off button ETC.

Could you please elaborate on what you mean re forgetting to shut off 12v and line voltage? Where would you shut those off? Thanks.
