Fridge Settings on Propane?

I have noticed highs and lows on my thermometer that sometimes have a 20 degree differential in both freezer and refer sections.

Obviously we're doing something wrong ..... or right? 35 degrees celcius today, fridge on setting 5, awning down to shade fridge side, works just fine. Everything is cold, frozen stuff is still frozen. No thermometer, no cooler.

35 degrees celcius = 95 degrees Fahrenheit
Where in the northern hemisphere could you be in Febuary at that temperature? Thankfully not Texas

Very interesting thread. Made me go to my Dometic Model RM8551 users manual and that's when I discovered addendum #210 6513 97, date 2008-02-27, titled RM 8505 UL Forced Air Circulation.

Says, "Additional fans... the refrigerator is equipped with two fans for better air circulation. Fans are controlled by a thermostat so they switch on and off automatically." There's also a picture of the refrig. rear and arrows pointing to the two fans, which face the tubes.

Thus far no issues with cooling but have yet to deal with summer heat. Just in case, adding auxiliary fans is in my bucket ... but now... in light of this discovery ... hmmm.

Mine is the RM8551, Escape's standard model. The manual is same one for 6 different RM's, including mine. So why did I get this addendum. Must look into confirming if I got fans or not.

We were in the same area over the weekend, Picacho Peak State Park. Fridge was set on 4 and running on AC and the temperature stayed in the mid-30's. At least in our case, performance has been pretty stable on both AC and propane and we've had no problems yet keeping stuff cold in the frig and frozen in the freezer.

Ours is working better now too, as it has been gradually emptied. I am wondering if we didnt over fill it.

El Centro, California. Imperial Valley, just east of San Diego.

Our fridge has continued to be all over the map temperature wise on LP, but stable on A/C.

Since returning home, our favorite trailer repair place told me dirt often gets where the propane flame is, remove the cover and blow it out with compressed air, then test it before spending any money on a thermostat or other repairs.
