Gelcoat divot, spalling

Hi all, had our new 19 delivered in May, and have been enjoying it on a few short trips. I was hosing it off to cover it today and I noticed a tiny little divot, with spalling around it, in the corner right where the awning fabric is mounted to the body on that "shelf". It's that corner above the front passenger side dinette window. Just wondering if anyone else has had issues in these corners where the awnings go. Kind of hard to see, but there's spalling and a little black showing in the middle. I'm going to be contacting service tomorrow.

thanks,

Larry

I'm sure I have had some of those in the past, but they do not get worse and are hardly noticeable. Enjoy your new Escape....

I cross posted this to the FB page and someone responded with pics of their issue with similar stuff, they had picked it up in March. Escape is paying to have it repaired at a shop. The pic of his was much worse.

Yeah, get it fixed, but it is truly no big thing. Even gel coat and fiberglass do unusual things after they're molded. It's a cosmetic issue. Sailboats, motorboats and other fiberglass constructed items are rife with complaints of blisters, spalling and the like. It comes with the territory, and dumb bad luck.

Unlike boats, we don't leave our vessels in the water 24/7. THAT really helps us.
