I think, depending on the situation, items like power jack or tracking device may have to be wired direct or at least with a switch on the box. I was thinking about those once in awhile times for an air compressor or perhaps a 12v blower or any items that come equipped with alligator clips that you want a direct connection. Everything else is optional.

Yes, I believe so, but I was referring to aftermarket additions. On our early 19 the breakaway wiring is spliced into power in a junction box on the battery side of the cutoff switch. Same principle of course, but my point is ETI tries to avoid a bunch of small separate wires directly off the battery posts.

Another "direct to battery" (although this can be done at the battery disconnect switch) is the "keep the settings" connection to a automotive type radio. Most have a separate + wire that should stay connected. Little battery drain, but if disconnected, you need to reprogram far too many settings.
