Heater poops out

I have an Escape 19, 2018. On the last day of our 4-month summer vacation, the heater started, ran for about 15 seconds and quit. Tried again several times with same result.
Plenty of propane in the tanks.

Any ideas?

Sail switch is dirty or failed. Check what model of furnace you have and then search the forum for many quality answers.

I bet a quick sail switch cleaning will fix it.

Larry if you have the outside furnace access this video should help if you are looking to clean the sail switch

We had the same issue when we first got our 21. Cleaned sail switch no joy, changed out sail switch still no joy. Replaced the control board and the issues went away. Been down to the coast and up in the mountains since with no more issues but still knocking on wood lol .

So maybe new owners picking up their Escape at the factory should purchase an "extra" control board for a spare?

I bought one from Dinosaur Electronics (their own design) several years ago and haven't had a problem since.

If you turned off the propane between working and not working, try turning it off and then slowly turning it on again.

The RV industry is in a very sad state of affairs if a person needs to buy spare parts for their RV appliances when they pick their brand new trailer up from the factory!

Is this the one you bought? It says it should work with the older Atwood 8012-II and the newer Atwood AFSAD12. I assume the Dometic DFSAD12 furnaces as well since they are essentially the same.

Dave,
I think that's the one, but can't guarantee it.
I bought it several months after we picked up our trailer. Furnace would just refuse to spin up the fan or refuse to light so I just tried that board and I haven't had a problem for close to 3 years.

bummer-- i have a 2017. I'm guessing doing the sail switch is a lot hard from the inside? haven't had an issue with my heater yet but when i do i just wanted to be prepared.

Unfortunately you have to pull the furnace.
