How to get behind vinyl wall covering

I need some help. I need to get behind the vinyl wall covering on the door side in the front dinette. How do I remove it?

Really can't. It is glued in place, as whole sheets(must be fun?), & the cabinetry is built over it, to help hold it tight. The only place is unscrewing the center "button/screw" & pulling the corner piece out.

The door catch broke so I had to drill & pop rivet a new catch. The old rivet body is pushed into the vinyl.

Tammy was showing me the interior of a 19 while the worker was gluing some vinyl overhead. The spray adhesive worked really well and he was working single handed. I guess it's like anything else, the more you do, the better you get at it.

How close are you to a reachable edge. It is possible to peel the foam backing off the shell and then re-glue it.

Failing that I believe that there's a vinyl glue for "invisible" repairs to vinyl. Maybe a small cut, extract the rivet and glue the cut?

Same thing happened to me when I replaced the door catch. I recall ours lands behind the dinette cushion on the 19. I think I just left it as it was pretty innocuous. If it really bothers you one option would be a very small slice to extract it and then maybe use something like this. It's basically a clear sticker. I have used it on my boat and it holds up well.

Thanks

On the 15A they are behind the front cushions.

I just don't want the vinyl to get worn away over time so I want to get the old rivet bodies out. I will see if I can get in behind the wall covering/headliner to get them out. Does the corner piece just come off with a screw behind the cap?

Yes, one screw and it's off giving you access to the edge of the vinyl. Peel it back, grab the rivet. You may not have to even re-glue it depending if the corner batten holds it in place.

Removed the seat

I removed the seat and lo and behold I could reach my hand up between the fiberglass and the wall covering. Pulled it out a little bit went and drilled out the old rivets put in new ones that were shorter. Put the seat back on and life is good
