HUGE thanks to Pat M!

I just have to give a HUGE shout out and thanks to Pat M (of PatandLinda) for her help recently.

I was boondocking for close to 5 days. First time doing it for that long. It kept getting hotter and hotter. Finally hot enough (as in stinking hot!) to run the generators so I could run the a/c.

Hooked up the generators together and got them running. Followed all the instructions on that. Checked the meter thingie inside the trailer and I had juice flowing. Turned on my small fan with electrical, just to double check. Yep, it's working.

Turned on the a/c. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. What the ()*#$(*&#$)(*#($*

Texted to Pat that I was having problems. (Yes, we have smart phones now. Amazing, I know.) She called me back and walked me through the process. Turns out there was one other switch I needed to flip. Something about bypassing the inverter or some such. Heck if I remember details now. That device (in the dinette area) is getting a label so I remember to flip it up for the generators and flip it down for shore power. It keeps the power from surging, I think.

(Pat can explain it better.)

Ah, the cool air. It felt so stinking good. It kept me from getting heat exhaustion, I'm sure.

And those with the 2nd Gen trailers will be happy to know the frig kept up with the heat. Granted, my ice cream wasn't frozen solid, but that's okay as I always let my ice cream sit around to soften up a bit anyway. And I eat it slowly to keep from getting the dreaded Ice Cream Headache, so I'm used to mushy ice cream.

I could not tell you the temperatures of the frig/freezer though. My brain was fried from the heat so I didn't think to keep track of it. I just know it kept my flexible freezer gel packs cold enough to use on my neck and the milk wasn't warm.

So, yeah, THANKS Pat! Thanks for giving me your cell number so I could text ya if need be. Thanks for being there when I was desperate for cool air and too brain dead to think properly. Thanks for calling.

Oh my Laura , you are making me blush right now . Anytime someone needs help I am always willing too. You are becoming a seasoned camper and getting very knowledgeable. Good for you getting out there by yourself . Now we just need Dirk to join so you can show him all you've learned Pat
