That’s a good price, Jim. As you know, depending on price or availability one can also fit their own quick connect. Either way, works extremely well for the external dishwashing station.

The female couplers that are used in the outside shower kits distributed by RecPro and Empire are not compatible with most male quick-connect plugs. I've contacted a number of suppliers including etrailer to ask for the specifications. No one could provide the information I needed. After taking the measurements of the plug that is provided with the RecPro spout and perusing hardware stores, I found one type of male plug that works, and it's $2.20 on Amazon for 1/4" FNPT:

Is it just me or does anyone else have a heck of a time removing the hose from the exterior shower disconnect? Only time we have ever turned it on is when I winterize. The water and antifreeze will not flow through without connecting the hose which hasn’t been all that easy for me either. This year, I had to get out a big honking’ pliers to successfully push the quick connect in, so that I could pull the hose out. Really wish we hadn’t paid for this option. Anybody have any trade secrets on how to use that thing?

It sounds like you got a defective faucet. Ours has always just popped in or out easy peasy.
They aren't too expensive and would be easy to replace depending on the location. There is good access on our 5.0 with it on the passenger side. It would be easier than replacing the kitchen sink faucet anyway.

Thanks. I may have to try a new one. Wish I had the experience/confidence to install a shutoff valve inside so I would not need to winterize the exterior shower.

They get sticky and stubborn sometimes. Probably more so with lack of use. You can just replace the quick connect piece versus the whole faucet

Ours was impossible to install or remove. Then I realized if the water pump is turned off and the kitchen faucet run until there is no water pressure it goes on and off easily.

Or it could be something else.

Yes, reducing the water pressure allows easier removal of connected items....

I know this was on another thread, but there is a tag on the hose that explains what to do. I never noticed it and someone in another thread pointed it out. Have not had any issues since following those instructions. ��

Unfortunately, if I ever had a tag on that hose, it’s long gone.

Thanks! I carry a can of silicone in the camper, so should work fine. We never use the outside shower but I still prefer not to introduce a contaminant, just in case.

Ours has an on/off valve, which makes it much easier to use once you've set the hard to turn hot/cold valves. I assumed it came with the trailer, but if not Shawn must have bought it.

The quick-connect socket on the outdoor faucet stopped working. Fortunately, in the storage box was a brand new one Shawn must have bought. I started to work on the sealant around the box, then realized I could just replace the valves and simply screw on the pipes. Easy job. The new quick-connect socket works easily.

I returned that Hamilton Bowes Flexible Spout Quick Connect from Amazon twice because both times they leaked when I had the water on with an inline shut off valve.
My blue Escape supplied coiled water hose did not. Maybe the RecPro RV does not. At the time everyone was using eTrailer supplied version and not having any trouble.

Yeah not sure about these other cheaper versions but we haven’t had any trouble with the D&W version available at eTrailer. Most times you get what you pay for

I have several 'quick connect' devices and a squirt of lube when connecting will make it easier to use them, especially if they are not used very often.
