IKEA StuGvik suction cup series

Does anyone have experience with any of the IKEA suction cup series StuGvik? They seem to have some interesting options for sticking things (especially in the bathroom), but my experience with suction cups is that they eventually fall off. I'm looking for some bathroom towel racks, to holder, mirror, etc...
Search result - IKEA

Thanks for your suggestions, experience or recommendations.

We've got the ikea soap dispenser. Every so often it falls in the sink or lands on the floor. We like it and put up with the inconsistency

I do not recommend suction cup toothbrush holders, that end up on the bathroom floor.
I don't have the Ikea series, but all of my suction devices end up on the floor eventually.

I bought the mirror a couple years ago and love it---it has stayed in place with no issues.
Works better than the other mirror we had.

For towels we use the 3M hooks and have moved them around a few times.

I do have a suction cup basket and I can't remember where I got it--seems pretty good..I have it just above the metal trim.

I have three types: single hooks that work fine for light items like a hand towel, the soap dispenser that works if you watch the fill levels and the two hook tray/basket that is terrible. I believe one issue is the outside wall of the 21 bathroom has a slight curve to it, that may affect the tray.

Here's a prior discussion. Hopefully Sandra L and Zardoz will answer up and let us know how well they're working since this thread is from July 2015: http://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f8...lder-4159.html

Both work very well. And both would routinely fall off the bathroom wall once a year (while in winter storage). Considering that they're not permanently attached, I thought that was a pretty good failure rate. The "twist to secure" feature is, I believe, the best way to attach to the bathroom wall short of using a screw.

Journey,

We are using the Stugvik line with suction cups in our bathroom with great results.

Basket
Toothbrush holder
Hook (2-pack)
Soap Dish

Toilet Roll holder (we use this on the side wall to keep our shower curtain tucked back and out of the way)

Mirror w/hooks ( we placed this behind our extended cabinet door above the furnace) I mounted it with heavy duty Velcro because the suction will not work on wood and I did not want to drill a hole in the thin panel. The jury is still out on weather it will hold when we are on the road)

Hope this helps.

We've had about the same experience
With these towel bars. They fall off about once a year, usually with a clatter when we are sleeping. "What the hell was that?"
They're pretty good unless I get to doing a
Four Tops routine to My Girl while taking a shower, then all bets are off. ( Paints a picture don't it?) Buy them and try them, no holes and no marks, not too expensive. "until the real thing comes along".

We have had great success with the STUGVIK fixtures. What worked for us was waiting 24 hours or so after mounting before using them. They have been in place now for a little over two years, -30F with the trailer in storage and over some pretty rough roads. Very happy with them. Scott

We "inherited" the TP holder when we bought Rich's 2013 '19 in October. (He took the towel rack with him.). I just returned from a weekend spring shakedown trip and can say the TP holder is right where Rich left it.

I need to get to Ikea for the towel rack.

Wow, thanks everyone! We weren't sure if these were worth trying, but it sounds like most people have had fair results so we'll do a combo of the ikea and 3m hooks-happy to know that they aren't a waste of $$

They work great on the outside too once you arrive at your campsite and will even stay attached for a couple hundred miles at 62 mph if you forget to take them off when you break camp!
