Interior LED light flashing

We have a 2015 escape 19. The ceiling LED light began flashing duing our Florida trip this year. When we removed the cover what we found underneath doesn"t appear to be a replaceable bulb.

Help. Does the whole fixture need to be replaced?

It is replaceable, if it's anything like my 2015. Its just an LED pancake bulb with a mini wedge connection. There's a screw that holds it in place then it just pulls out from the base.

Before attempting to replace it, try removing and cleaning the contacts, then reinsert and secure it with the screw. Might make it work properly.

Thanks again for responding and sharing the link but our fixture does not appear to be the same. I will try to attatch a picture of it to see if there are any more suggestions.

The wires are soldered to the plate with the bulbs.

Ah! You got the newer fixtures. They must have switched sometime in later 2015. The bulbs on these can be replaced, but I think it takes a solder gun because the bulbs don't come with the leads pre-soldered on. First, I'd check the connections on those wire nuts. If that doesn't correct it, it's probably easier to just replace the fixture. Check with Escape and they should be able to give you the brand and model.

They are a relatively inexpensive fixture at $12.00; cheaper than some replacement lamps. Here is an Amazon link for the fixture: Falcon Dimmable LED.. They do seem to have a "Disco" effect problem - I had one go bad in my 2017 21 within 4 months of purchase. Escape replaced it...

Well there you go Larry. I doubt you could find just the bulb for the price of the whole fixture. Thanks Jon for the link.

Thanks for the Amazon link - I'm ready to order but don't know whether to specify white or beige. Has anyone gotten a good color match with either white or beige? if so, please lemme know. I'm planning to order the 3-pack to have spares, so want the correct color the first time. I think white, but the spouse is saying beige.

Had the trailer home for its monthly exercises, and the center ceiling light started flashing - really irritating for any length of time. Popped the cover off and found a strip of 12 SMD LED's, with the 3 closest to the switch flashing. Saw 4 SMD's - presumably current limiting resistors, each one handling 3 LED's. Wiggled the one closest to the flashers, and they would either go full bright or turn off, then start flashing again. As temporary fix, dabbed some black paint on the LED's to shut them up. Then noticed that the 3 LED's furthest from the switch had gone dim. Wiggled the rearmost presumed current limiting resistor, and could set it to different intensities - an inconvenient way to have dimmable LED's. Then noticed that the identical light over the bed had the 3 rearmost LED's off. Wiggled their presumed current limiting resistor and could get different intensities. Figured had nothing to lose so wiggled the resistors for full brightness and applied a dab of epoxy. Sort of fixed things, but when everything got up to temperature, no good again. So 2 failures out of 2 - front light running at 50% and the rear one at 75%. Not too impressive. Maybe the Amazon lights will do better, although they look pretty much identical to the originals, and the PC ribbon looks identical, so hope is not particularly springing eternal in this case. At least the replacement lights are cheap, albeit maybe in both senses of the word.

I checked with ETI, and they're saying that the lights are white, so that should help pin down the color question. Also, they can supply replacement light assemblies, but they "are still using the same lights". At $15.50 each, plus shipping, I'll go with the Amazon link and hope for better quality.

Assuming that I'm not the only one with ceiling light issues, maybe someone else will find the following information useful. Comparing the label, the molded plastic base, and the circuit ribbon on the original lights to the images on the Amazon web page, the Amazon offering is a quite different (and hopefully less crappy) assembly. I'm planning to order 1 white one to check for color and fit, then order 3 more to have a couple of spares while they're still available.

I included some pics of my original unit, and you can compare for yourself against the images at Vermilye's Amazon link.
