Interior light lens removal

Good day all,
Does anyone know how to remove the lens from the white oval interior LED light in the 17b? I’ve tried squeezing, sliding and prying with a screwdriver, but cannot make it move without risking damage.

Try prying it open at the little cut out with a paint can opener. Makes it really easy!

I’ll give that a go.

Thanks Jill. I’ll muster some courage and try the paint can opener.

Every time that I remove a light cover I grit my teeth and am sure that it's going to snap before I get it off. Same thing yesterday with the range hood light.

Never broken one yet, good luck.

Your teeth must be taking a beating with all that gritting....

After trying to pry one off, my sister discovered that they slide in and out. Slide it and then pull off.

I have 2018 Escape 21, so don't know if I have same lights, but mine were very hard to remove the center lens. there is a trick to removing it, you have to pull the cover apart, not compress. I made a small hook out of clothes hanger, slipped it under the edge, tugged a little, and presto came off. took hours, messing with to get if off the 1st time. after I had it off, was easy to see how to get off next time. good luck, cheers

They slide back from the switch side single or dual about1/4-inch then lift out.
