Is there a bathroom sink mod????

Good day fellow campers. My wife and I are looking at a 21' today. One major issue " may be" my wife's need for putting in and removing contacts in the bathroom. I see from pics that there is no sink cabinet. Linda at ETI tells me there are no options from the factory for a shelf of any kind. I am hoping that there are other owners who have figured out a way to change contacts in the Escape bathroom, ideally with space for a small lighted mirror and surface to hold a contact case.
It would be unfortunate if this issue were a deal breaker. Cheryl believes there must be other Escape owners who have figured it out
Mark

If that's a deal-breaker...

You can mount a mirror on the door inside, right next to the sink, if that helps...

Bob, I guess you have not been searching for a flying contact lens in a larger, cluttered area.

Much better to be in a confined, "clean" area. Those dang lenses love to play hide and seek!

You will need light falling on the face of the person looking into the mirror for the mirror to be useful.

I believe there is a light right over the door, although not falling but attached.....

I think that would be at the dinette with a mirror on a stand and plenty of light.

Ikea makes a variety of suction cup mounted accessories that work well on the fiberglass wall surface - towel bars and a number of different baskets, bins, soap dishes, etc. If you just need a small shelf to hold a contact case their soap dish would probably work great.

I've put my contacts on in the bathroom many times. I installed a small anti-fog, shatterproof mirror on the wall which is attached with VHB tape. We also have a big basket under the sink attached with suction cups -- works to hold shampoo, contact lens solution, etc. I have to say it's pretty crowded in the bathroom, so prefer to use the kitchen counter and mirror on the closet door when possible.

If your wife needs that precision for putting in/out contacts I suggest sitting at the dinette with a small mirror. Keeping everything on the table should reduce/eliminate the risk of loss. Personally, I just need a mirror so I will just step into the bath and use the mirror on the medicine cabinet and step back out.

Here is the Ikea mirror taped to the wall of a 19 under the light. It is designed to hang on a suction cup but I removed the rear tabs and used foam double sided tape to keep it from swinging around. You can really get up close and personal with this one. It also comes with a tiny ledge (I would not call it a shelf) and some hooks.

Hopefully you can work something out in a 21...maybe a mirror that hinges down from under the kitchen cabinet.

In our 19, I used the kitchen counter, the overhead light and the mirror on the pantry door.

Thanks all. We are getting pretty excited with these ideas. Cheryl thinks most folks use soft lenses these days, unfortunately she has gas permeable and is reluctant to change. Every time we loose one it's $90. To be sure it has only happened a couple times in the past 25 yrs, BUT, I hate getting woke up with, "honey I shrunk the........ I mean, honey I lost my contact, it just flew out....." Now don't move!!!!!

The forum members who bought CPAharley2008 first E-21 made a wood shelf for the bath which attached to three command hooks. I worked out nicely and they did a progress report on it recently. Sorry I can't find the post and I don't know their name on this forum. Maybe some else can find the post

Hi: elongest... Look for 2yax2go posts. They bought cpa's last 21. I have a "Sinking" feeling about those contacts!!! At least it's a small bathroom and bed area. Alf

Mark,
Take a look at the 3M line of bathroom products.
https://amzn.to/2My52Wf
They all stick with the command strips formulated for wet baths and are easily removable. Our 3M bath items have been on the bath wall since 2015 with no issues. They have all kinds of holders, mirrors, etc.

Check https://littlehousecustoms.com .

Larry and Debbie Gamble are LOOOOOONG time "egg" owners and, have heavily modified their own egg to the point where "eggmods" became a business. If there's a way to mod an egg, Larry has probably done it. High quality work at reasonable prices.
