So I assume all the things I read previously about poor return contact were things from folks who were not happy. Because I did see a number of posts here and on Facebook. Obviously this thread brought out all the good things. Thanks all!

Or, to read Jim Bennett's sig:

“Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.” — Abraham Lincoln

I believe the Eco series lighting that Panther RV sells is an exact/identical replacement for the newer Escape lights (the Facon lights from Amazon are slightly different as I bought some and returned them). They come in both a warmer and cooler tone (temp. kelvin). I replaced every light in my 17b (except the bathroom) in an afternoon. For some reason the smaller version of the older lights seems to be less susceptible to the flickering problem. The older lights were designed for 14 volts DC and would start to go out because charging voltages (from both the converter and solar) can go much higher than 14 volts. I left the bathroom light unchanged because I could not source a replacement light with the waterproof switch gasket. I keep a spare of the smaller original in the camper in case I have a problem. Also, I prefer the warmer kelvin version of the newer lights over the light quality of the original fixtures:

My first E19 did not have a plastic cover on the switch, you can always place a piece of saran wrap under the cover over the switch.
