Light “bulb” question

2015 17B and this is the first time I’ve needed to change a light bulb! Outside porch light. What # base am I looking for? Are these flat ones replaced now by cylindrical ones? Thank you!

I would try to do some searches but limited cell signal is even worse as the hurricane rain and clouds are arriving in southern MO.

Enjoying living in my trailer most of every week here but good news is my new house next field over will be done enough for me to move next month!

That is what is known as a BA15 base. It is an 1141 or 1156 lamp (1156 is too hot for the fixture however). I use M4Products LED lamps as they are the best I have found. For Interior lamps I prefer natural white, and have this lamp installed in all of my ceiling fixtures.

When I bought my trailer it has a hodge-podge of LED lamps in different color shades and many of them had non-working LED elements. I install all of the same M4 Elite natura white lamps and save the very few that were sorta good and put them in the exterior lights over the dump station, the cargo pod and the exterior storage compartment lights.

The nice thing about M4Products is that they design the circuity and specify the Samsung LEDs to be used, no matter which style lamp it is. I installed all Natural white and the reading lights, the puck lights, the ceiling lights, all are the same color.

I've converted 3 different RVs and so far only one bi-pin lamp in a puck light has failed, and M4 promptly replaced it. I have never had an LED element fail and I leave them on a lot while I am working inside setting up for a trip or doing repairs.

All of my interior ceiling lights are this type. I’m not seeing that M4 has these?
I reminded myself that one of the two in a double-sided fixture over the bunk bed sometimes stays on dimly all night. That happens so rarely I forget about it. My son has slept on the top bunk twice and both times it would never turn off.

M4 used to have those, but I'm not seeing them now. You could use the plate light with the wedge and BA15 base adapters. I have used them in two different RV's and they are ultra reliable because the circuitry is on a separate board from the LEDs. They are a peel and stick. Use alcohol to clean the flat surface and peel the red plastic and stick on, 3M VHB tape.

I removed the socket, it just snaps in and that gave me room for the longer plate light, I just hardwired it on the back side. Actually what I did was cut off the Wedge or BA15 base and hardwire the cut off pin connector end, leaving the pin connector in case the lights ever needed replacing. All of that is stuffed on the top side of the fixture. The shorter one will fit without removing the socket (possibly) and then you can use the adapter into the socket. The long plate lights work OK on ceilings, but if its a light under a cabinet over a dinette or under a kitchen cabinet, you want the short one, the long one is TOO bright.

This might work, it is the one M4 has had, but check the measurements closely, I think it was too long for my fixtures and that drove me to the plate lights.

I have had good luck with these bulbs from Amazon

But new bulbs may not solve your problems. I had similar a similar problem with our 2014 21 many years ago and after I mentioned it on the forum Reace sent me a new fixture. I think it was moisture in the switch allowing some current through. So you might try removing the fixture and having a look at the swtich.
