Hubby lubricated the slot again, and then lightly tapped the key in with a hammer and it finally went in and now it works, going to get some graphite he thinks it was jammed up. Also now nervous about it, so anybody got any suggestions what to replace it with?

door locks

I just ordered the RV locks (239.00) from Amazon. We at times will both be heading to the showers and need to take two keys of which many people may have a 3rd key.
I think we may feel more comfortable even with our watch dog.

My wife and I hike a lot so not having to take a key with us( that could be lost) is great.

You could lose your mind and forget the combination!

You're right! But I would probably forget where I parked the trailer too.

Oh wait - already done that. Some friends of ours painted the A/C shroud yellow for just that reason.

Or better yet, just use a permanent marker to write the door lock combination on your door. That way you will always be able to get back in!

I'd write it on the inside of the door.

We have the RV Lock V4.0 and love it! We keep the trailer keys in the truck and just use the code when camping.

Then there’s also the hidden key somewhere on the trailer. Last night I carefully locked everything up. Highlander and trailer before going to bed. Was a little surprised this morning to realize I’d left the drivers side window down. And it didn’t rain. Clean living and a lot of nice honest people camped in Cumberland State Park in the great state of Tennessee.
Camped in the Smokies tonight. Escape 21 parked next to two other rookie 21 owners
ATHiker and Bill and Earline. Good times.

That reminds me of the time my brother was tent camping with me and I left my other set of keys inside the spare tire cover in case he returned from hunting and I wasn't around.

During the next trip I wondered where my keys were and was trying to remember if I gave them to my brother and he forgot to return them. Oh yeah - the tire cover! They were still there, over 600 miles later.

Dave,
If you had been in western Iowa. South/North Dakota or Montana your driver seat would have been filled with snow.....

Years ago we had a municipal swimming pool break in and the floor safe was accessed and emptied, The detective working the call wanted to know how many people had the safe combination. As I turned to set down at the managers desk and make a list for him , he said “Never Mind”! I looked at him and he was pointing at a wall calendar directly above the safe. Written on the calendar was 56 RX3 27LX 2 back to 12. College kids, mine and the ones I hired are the reason I don’t have much hair today.

This bottle is so old and thick you can't read the label.

I had some hair gel like that once. It was call HA. Hair Arranger, remember that? You could use it on wheel bearings too!

not locked out now

The RVlock that I ordered yesterday from Amazon showed up today and I just finished installing it. I'm impressed and that doesn't happen very often, although I don't spend $250 very often for something I haven't seen, but it did have good reviews including on this forum. As someone said in the reviews, it was a little difficult to program. The 10 seconds time limit caused me to make several attempts due to my slow fingers.

Not 1st gen, but I installed a mechanical lock from RV Locks & More last fall and I have no complaints.
