I have looked at some of the Curt lockable boxes and the DIY YouTube videos but none seem adaptable to the Escape. Any advice?
I have asked a friend who is handy with a welder to fabricate a hold down bar from angle iron, approximately 4 ft in length, that can be laid across the top of the batteries and secured to the vertical support holding the spare tire. Still that leaves the possibility of someone removing the spare tire mount, currently bolted to the bumper, to free the batteries.
Open to any clever alternatives.
