Low point drain
I know most will not have a low point drain, but I have to ask anyway. I opened the drain on my fresh water tank and water flowed. I opened the low point drain and nothing came out.
Where did the water in the lines go?

From this picture of mine I'm guessing .....your lines are simply dry?

Got two or three drops out when I opened it. Used the trailer three weeks ago.

Did you open a faucet to allow air in, so water could flow out? (That would mean the water didn't go anywhere, and is still in the piping)
Does water flow back through your pump into the tank, due to a failed check valve?

Didn't open faucet. Will do tomorrow. Don't like to rush into things.

Did you open a faucet? If everything is closed, the drain won't...
Sorry Brian - missed your post...

That was the solution. Amazing what you can forget in a year, even after doing it a dozen times.

I always try not to worry about what I have forgotten... or at least think that's what I've done...

It’s humbling when an oversight is pointed out. However sharing and being reminded of a missed step is a lot better than having something freeze up or fail and have to be repaired when finally discovered. In my opinion

I have a winterizing check list. But, sometimes confidence in one's routine overcomes one's memory.
Like hitching and unhitching, winterizing is best done with a list and without interruption.
That occurred to me as I drained the fresh water tank and opened the low-point drain. I thought, I really should just put this off, until I'm ready to remove the water heater anode, set the bypass, pump in the anti-freeze and { I forget }.
I'll start over, with my check list, next warm sunny day.

Yes it was quite cold over the weekend wasn't it.
I pulled the anode and drained the fresh water myself so I wouldn't have to do it when it was really cold out. But yes I eventually thought, wait a minute, it's not even october yet. and didn't continue. I really didn't want the carry the air compressor out to the trailer. Yet.

Temperatures did get down to about -2 to -4°C here on the weekend, so I did drain the water heater, the black/grey/fresh tanks, blew out the water lines with compressed air, and poured a bit of RV antifreeze down the drains of both the 19' and 15' Escapes. May still get out camping yet in October, but at least the cold temperatures won't damage anything.
