Exclamation Manual awning ??

Have the manual awning on our 2019 E21..works fine, but seems to roll up a bit off center..so that the fabric is about 2" from the front end cap and very close to the rear end cap. Is there any simple way to "move" the awning up toward the front a bit..or is it even a problem? I did a searxh but came up empty. Thanks.

That's a new one to me, never seen that before. From my experience in rolling up things in general, the edge may not be a perfect 90* to the fixed piece causing the sideways creep.

No idea how to change it but I'd say if the sideways creep doesn't result in the edge chaffing and rubbing then I'd just use it the way it is.

Have you tried moving the black strap to the other end and walking it sideways as the awning rolls up? Are you "walking" the strap sideways now as you roll?

I think what you are saying is that the fabric is just not centered on the roller, not that it is rolling up crooked.

I just looked at mine and it is different than the one on my old travel trailer. It looks pretty locked in the roller where it is. Mine is pretty centered only off by a half of an inch or so.

As long as it rolls up straight I wouldn't probably worry about it too much.

Oh gosh, we had that happen on our 19'. Not at first, but we were in a hurry to roll it up one time and, as I remember, one of us (not me of course ... ), didn't get one side down low enough before rolling it up. In other words, we had actually rolled it up crooked without knowing it. Thus, one end was 'loose'. I thought we had stretched it somehow and that were going to have to replace the awning. After a few times, we extended the awning out as far as it would go then we lowered it (kind of like what you would do if you wanted the water to roll off it), and it finally rolled back in straight. Just a thought.
