marker light, what's the problem
Hello Everyone:
My Escape21 was hit by a truck (hit and run) and the marker light on the right-rear side was damaged. The red lens was broken and the lights inside broken. I ordered the replacement and installed it yesterday. However it is still is not working. Just two wires, one red and one white. All other lights are working. Am I doing something wrong? All ideas are welcome ! Thanks so much. And ps: the moron that hit me has been captured on video and she has been confronted by the storage facility manager to pay for the damages.

The little red lights, right? Can you still get to the connection? can you check for 12vdc with a meter?

I looked under the back seat to see if the wires inside were still attached and they appear to be good. I don't have a meter. And yes, the little red side light

Is the replacement light an LED ?
LED lights have polarity so is the polarity correct ?

How are you turning the lights on, connected or otherwise?

Once I installed the new light, I connected the electrical plug to my truck. All lights came on, except the new one

You might be right. I'd reverse the connections as the first test.
This is a good example of why every trailer owner should have a simple multimeter or a test light.

Yes, I did reverse the red/white as a test. So I'm heading to the hardware store to get a meter or a test light. Thanks so much Ron. My next thought is that the new light is defective. What a pain eh ?

Just connect the light to any known 12 VDC Source and see if the fixture lights up
If it doesn’t light then the fixture is bad
Eliminate one possible source of the problem at a time
The chances of both the fixture and the wiring being bad at the same time is slim

Disconnect the light from the trailer wires and connect to a 9vdc battery to see if it lights. Might be dim but will provide a test of the led.
