Mattress and cushion removal

Hi
Just wondering what most people do re removal or not, of mattress and cushions when your Escape is in winter storage? Is mould a problem?
We live in North Vancouver, so wet and not too cold-usually!

Thanks
Marguerite

I leave my cushions in the trailer ( under a cedar tree in North Van ). Can't bring them into the house, as some others do, because there is no room for them.
I have two Dri-Z-Air containers. I place one either end of the trailer. I also run a heater on low from time to time with the MaxxFan open.

No mold or odor issues, going on ten years.
I also open all the cupboards.

We leave the cushions and mattress in. I can't even imagine trying to move the mattress out. We open all the cabinets and drawers and use multiple Damp- rid moisture absorbers that we check and empty as needed. So far, so good.

I also don't remove the cushions and mattress. I store the trailer outside and leave the roof vents open a bit. I have one driz air container. Keep fridge open. I tip the bench cushions on their sides to allow air to circulate. The mattress is on an Ikea slat platform. If you don't want to use an Ikea slat, I think it would be a good idea to put something under the mattress to keep it off the wood and let air circulate. Keep topping up the p-traps with antifreeze as the winter progresses, as it may tend to evaporate. Don't forget antifreeze in the shower p-trap.

I leave them in place and run a dehumidifier 24/7 that drains into the sink, then out the gray piping. Always damp in the Pacific NorthWet. No mold issues.

Wet and cold here. We just tip our cushions up on edge and have had no problems.

Live in Victoria. Have memory foam beds in our 5TA. Occasionally run a small electric heater when it gets cold. No problems last year with mold. On our powerboat we use hypervent under the mattress with 2 Dri z Air’s. Heater on only when it gets really cold. More extreme measures for a more extreme environment.

We leave our mattress and cushions in over winter, but close it up tight and use a Caframo unit (low wattage heater and fan) plus a Dri-Z-Air unit. I found that even with the Caframo, the Dri-Z-Air pulls moisture from the air which is why I use them both. We keep cupboards and fridge doors open as well. No issues with moisture here in Surrey, parked in the shade using the two devices.

Thanks everyone-will leave our mattress in as it’s a challenge to get out!

Every time I make the bed I imagine what it would take to get that thing out. I would be terrified of damaging the shade cords and connectors.
