MaxxFan Cleaning

Fall cleaning time and I wanted to clean the dirt and dust that had accumulated inside my MaxxFan. It appears that the inside screen is suspended on four mounting points and looking at them carefully they seem to be hinged or spring loaded.

Does anyone know if that screen can be removed and if so, how?

Re: MaxxFan Cleaning

Just cleaned mine out, pretty easy - the four little lugs that hold the screen in actually rotate out of the way. Just give them a gentle twist and the screen will come out.

Or -- I took a small blower, opened the vent all the way and blasted everything on the screen onto the roof from inside the trailer. A little wiping of the screen while blowing cleaned it, too.

Re: MaxxFan Cleaning

Thanks for both ideas, that was too easy.

Re: MaxxFan Cleaning

Hi: Paul Braun... I just finished cleaning our MaxxFan. Not to easy with 4 yrs. of grime. Removed the screen, unbolted the blades, and firmly but gently pulled them down. Reached up thru the housing to scrub off the greasy film with Mr. Clean + water and a JCloth. YUCH!!! I used a bamboo skewer wrapped with the JCloth for those hard to reach little corners. Good job to do on a rainy afternoon. Alf
