My Maxxfan quit. It was simply a wire that had become separated ( I think when the fridge was removed for repair).

Thx - this one is definitely dead. Permanently. I figured out that I need the Deluxe so I should be all set.

if it has the big weather hood, that you can leave open in the rain, its a maxxfan deluxe.

here's a table of the various models of maxxfan deluxe, like my 21 has a 7500K

here's the rest of the maxxfan lineup to match with what you have...

Deluxe can be had with a white or smoke hood, 4 speed manual opening, 10 speed manual opening, or 10 speed electric opening with remote control. the 10 speed fans are bidirectional, while the 4 is exhaust-only.

I recommend the smoke cover. Stock from Escape I believe is white but we upgraded when the lift lever broke and we replaced fan. The smoke cover lets in a nice diffuse light. The white let in very little light.

fyi, you can replace just the lift lever... I had to replace the lifting gearbox on mine.

Sure you can but wanted the smoke cover. Airxcel who makes the MaxxFan was trying to gouge me on the price of just the cover so just got a whole new fan and have all the parts including control board as future spares.

^ If the same fan that came with our 15A then that would be the MaxxFan Deluxe. Within the same model range there are different configurations to choose from: https://www.airxcel.com/rv/maxxair/p...maxxfan-deluxe

So, I received the replacement for the defective MaxxFan 4000 and it is also defective. The "Auto" setting LED lights up but the fan won't come on. And when in the fully closed and locked position, there is approximately a 1/16" air gap between the cover and the weatherstripping on the opposite side of the hinge (rear side).

Beyond frustrating.

After 3 days of rain and 30 degree temps, we had significant condensation on windows, walls, and manual Maxxfan in our 19’. One night, the fan started on its own (no chirping). No control from switches. About 30 minutes later, the fan stopped, then started again. Switches returned to normal function. We’ve since used the fan in “ceiling fan” mode (vent closed) when condensation is a problem and the fan has functioned normally. Additional benefit is that warm air is circulated through the trailer eliminating cold spots. Will remove panel, seal the hole, and coat the board with a conformal coating. Thanks TDF and others for the advice.

After I sealed the hole the motor leads went through to connect to the control board and conformal coated the board, I haven't had any more "ghost" operation of the Maxxfan. This should probably be something the factory does to reduce warranty issues.

To Bean...

We were in the Ozarks a week or so ago, and had the same Max fan behavior. Seemed like it was condensation induced. It was 35 degrees an rainy, After a couple of days of heat, and max fan on low, it returned to normal.

Curious if both you and Jenny Katz have manual or Deluxe with remote?

Where are the Jonny Hung instructions?

Worked the pins over with steel wool, then a sharp knife , and the pins were bright and shiny. Reinstalled the circuit board and the MaxxFan works!

The MaxxFan now works fine with the hood up or down. Thanks especially to Jonny Hung for his very complete set of instructions and photos. Thanks to everyone else that replied to check connections. And a suggestion, have a spare circuit board just like we have a spare sail switch on board. Our last 30 days of our most recent trip was uncomfortable without the MaxxFan.

I've searched, to no avail. Can you please guide me to them.

If you look at the first page of this thread, reply #6, there is a link to Jonny Thing's great photo series of replacing the circuit board. He posted that on the Escape Facebook pages. Just click on the link and you will get there.

Not a member of Facebook

I earlier tried that link, but I'm not a Facebook or social media kinda fellow, so I thought I'd ask. If you can add me as a member of that group, OK with me.

What do you need to do so?
