micro wave never has worked

We have just finished our second weekend with our Escape 19. The microwave never has worked. Is there something different you do the first time you used it. I am assuming the ETI plugged in the microwave when installed. What am I missing here!!

I would check to see that it is still plugged in. Fridge and microwaves have been known to unplug themselves.

I assume that the light comes on if plugged in and does not if unplugged?

The microwave only works when hooked up to shore power or the inverter. Was your trailer plugged in? Or if not plugged in, do you have the inverter and was it running?

the inverter will only run hte microwave if you got it with the transfer switch and subpanel. if the inverter only powers an aux outlet, the microwave is not connected to that

Inverter was on all weekend, just checked and microwave was plugged in the whole time. Unplugging and plugging back in does not change the reality of no power.

Do any of the other plugs work when the inverter is on?

does your inverter hav ea transfer switch and subpanel (thats an extra panel of circuit breakers for the AC circuits tied to the transfer switch)

Is this an option?

yes. the basic inverter package just powers a special socket. the transfer switch/subpanel option transfers most of the trailer 120VAC loads over to the inverter, including the microwave.

Pull the microwave out, it’s way easy-test the outlet then bring your microwave into your house and test it out there.

Try the 2 extra breakers in a box near the power converter. Looks like this..

I can't seem to find this option anywhere.

This option isn’t available anymore. When choosing to install the inverter. You used to be able to pick just one outlet (usually the microwave) or all. There didn’t seem to be a big price difference.

Everything works now. Just plugged in a toaster in trailer which worked. And for some reason, I looked over at the the microwave and the power is now on and works normally. I suppose it was possible that the inverter was not on when trying the microwave before, but I tried two times yesterday with inverter on. Perhaps the switch that controls overhead lights (
on the side of my sink)needs to be on but in any case, I have a working microwave!!

the overhead lights are a 12VDC circuit, shoudln't have anything to do with the inverter or the transfer switch.
