Microwave not getting power? on the 5.0

Hi guys, trying to figure out this puzzle. This AM, we turned on the electric heater, turned on the microwave and then lost power.

I checked the campground switches off/on, unplugged the escape and plugged it back on.

The previous owner labeled Circuit 1/ circuit 2.

Circuit 1 is towards the back, all the 120 volts outlets are working.

Circuit 2, is the microwave, tv, front 120 outlets( not working )

I'm assuming it's a fuse problem, but the fuses are not labeled. Looking for ideas.
Thanks

It won't be a fuse - they are for 12V circuits. Try shutting off circuit breaker #2, then turning it back on. The microwave & most electric heaters on the same circuit will draw more than the rating for a 15 amp (or even a 20 amp) breaker.

We tried that, and didn’t work. Maybe replacing the 40a fuse will work.

Power outage

Does the TA have a ground fault outlet on the exterior of the trailer? Could it be part of the circuitry that controls the outlets and devices that don’t work?

you may have to pull the microwave and test the120v outlet it is plugged into in the rear of the cabinet.

All the power outlets on circuit 2 are not working. The ones on circuit 1 are working fine.

Not sure, we have 2015 5.0. I really think its something selly because we still have power on the power outlets circuit 1.

The ceramic heater must of the trip the circuit 2 running at the same time with the Microwave.

Again, the fuses are for the 12V circuits only.

If resetting the circuit breaker doesn't work, and all receptacles on circuit 2 are dead, it is possible you have overheated either the connection to the circuit breaker or the neutral connection for circuit 2. Before pulling the converter cover to check, unplug the trailer so no AC is present. Check for burned or loose connections.

I tripped a breaker in the house when I switched on an oil-filled heater in the living room. i had forgotten that I was running a cube heater on low in the trailer and it was on the same circuit.

To reset a circuit breaker, you have to turn the breaker off, then push it a littler harder to the off position to reset it, then turn it on.

Your profile doesn't say what year your trailer is. Do the newer 5.0TA's have a GFCI outlet on the MW circuit?

I have to update the profile. Sorry. It’s a 2015.
Will try to reset the breaker hope that works

I’m with Dave

I’m with Dave. I too had my microwave lose power and also several other outlets. After considering drastic solutions, I discovered that the ground fault circuit breaker plug on the outside of the trailer needed to have its reset button pushed. I pushed the reset button, and Voila! Everything was back to normal.

It is a 30 second solution to a seemingly big pain . Give it a try! 😊

I concur: it should be that pesky outside GFCI.
For electric heat, I added a 20 Amp dedicated circuit by adding a 20A breaker in an unused space on the converter panel, then adding a receptacle on the end of the front face of a dinette seat.

I never noticed this reset button, Where is it exactly? Can you post a picture so I know what to look for. Thanks

It is hard to see, between the 2 outlets are 2 small buttons, test and reset. Just like what you should have at home....in kitchen, bath, outside areas

It’s for sure a head scratcher the first time this little guy comes into play, especially as it’s on the outside of the trailer, but after that first time you never forget.

Dori and Mena: My guess is the GFI reset is not the problem because they don’t trip on overload only ground faults as designed. That said it is easy to find and check outside on the outlet under the flip cap (see photo one...you want to hit the reset button...your finger is almost on it). Since you mention you have an inverter in your trailer tour video and that the microwave can run off of it I suspect you have a gray electrical box or “load center” with another pair of 15A breakers under one of the dinette seats (see second photo). These breakers are your protection when there is no shore power and the automatic transfer switch flips 120V power from the inverter to these circuits. Find and reset these breaker(s) and I’m betting your problem is solved.

Maybe I am confused but after looking at my trailer and at the floor plan for the Escape 5.0 something doesn’t jive .
The GFCI on the outside of the trailer on my trailer and in the drawing is on the passenger side of the trailer and the microwave is on the driver’s side of the trailer .
Isn’t the microwave on the non GFCI protected circuit
Bad / tripped breaker , liose connection , hot or neutral , tripped inverter breaker ?
