microwave storage

I opted to keep my Warm & Toasty microwave/toaster/oven instead of the installed microwave. It lives on the counter next to the door when we are camped and on the floor when we are traveling. Does anyone leave their microwave on the counter? How do you keep it from working its way off? I thought about velcro dots on the feet and counter, but I am not sure that would hold up on rough roads. The floor works well, but I sometimes have a vision of forgetting to move it.

Re: microwave storage

I mounted our microwave on the countertop with a couple bolts and a pieces of a computer mouse pad for shock protection. It's worked just fine for the past 5 years and we use it for storage when traveling. This link describes it, but it is not very easy to follow, that was 5 years ago and I was new to all this.

Re: microwave storage

Hi: captmath...I installed our micro. in the 5.0 pantry, on the top shelf. The door still swings open...it stays plugged in and hasn't taken a header yet. I had to drop the front brackets of the shelf down to slide it in, then hold the shelf and the micro. up to re-screw the brackets. There's still room for a roll of paper towel and a couple of boxes of cereal for padding beside the oven. The plug hole in the counter surface becomes a vent hole!!! Alf

Re: microwave storage

Something less permanent than bolts and holes and can be used inside a cabinet: http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/r...hold-downs.htm
