Can anyone give me the size of the bath floor in 2019 or newer bath? I'm going to need to purchase and take one of those wooden bath mats to Chilliwack. I'll reach out to our sales person also......thanks.

We installed compression bars (tension rods, spring rods, etc.) to keep items from falling out when opening the cabinet door. Two years and 20,000 miles later nothing has fallen out. Compression bars can easily be moved or added to meet your needs.

If we had a door that easily opened I'd just add a little Velcro to keep the door closed. Velcro has been holding our Victron shunt in place for the past 2 1/2 years.

Enjoy,

Perry

Scratching my head on this one.
Because it's not a product ETI builds, it's one they buy. IF you can find a better one, same cut out dimensions... send the link to ETI for their perusal. AND share the link here. There may be members who wish to replace the ETI supplied medicine cabinet.

Well, form follows function. You have two choices, install a large deep medicine cabinet that protrudes out into the bathroom space or hire a boat shop to make a f.g. bump out so you can install a massive cabinet.

If you don't like either option then you're stuck with the same space to work with as ETI. Personally, after not having one in the 19 I'm very happy to have one in the 21.

Don't like the white plastic but then life is cruel. I did what many others have done, added clear plastic "L" to the front edge of the shelves and find the cabinet perfectly functional.

At home, I keep my meds and grooming stuff in a small plastic box. When going camping, I move the box to a cupboard in the trailer, and when we get back, it goes in a cupboard in the bathroom.
I have no need for a medicine cabinet.

Our 2020 19’ is 17x22.5 for the part that doesn’t include the little bump out under the sink to the shower drain.

I do the same, Glenn. Just curious, do you medicate yourself before grooming, or groom yourself before medicating?

Like many here I've never had the medicine cabinet open in transit.

I solved the "everything falls out when you open the door" problem using plastic bins with a 2" sidewall. Haven't had anything fall out since. The keen eye will notice the strategically placed bar of soap and band-aid box. Not strictly necessary, just extra insurance.

Well, grooming is a brush and a shaver ( which may or may not be employed ). The meds are prescribed, so I kinda have to take them. One just went generic, so the price dropped from $4,000 a month to $2,000 a month. It's claimed that it may prolong life. Government picks up that tab.

Hmmm The grooming question is interesting. I never thought about it. I take my meds somewhere between 6 PM and Midnight. I have very little hair and a full beard so grooming is minimal which come as no surprise to those who know me. So I think I’m a poor example, again. Plus in my old age, it just doesn’t matter to me much. I did eat two nice apples today so no doctor till at least Wednesday right?. I do save all the prescription bottles and take the labels off. During coon season I use them to bait Dog Proof Coon Traps with doctored Meow Mix. One bottle, one charge. No waste and no spillage. For Mouse control in the garages I use Victor snap traps baited with chunky peanut butter. Around the climb on points on the escape I made little boxes that hold about 10 mothballs. On the door perimeter we stick bounce dryer sheets with Frog masking tape. Works well.

I installed my own recessed medicine cabinet. Small holes drilled into the sides with small bungee cords with bent ends stretched across work really well to hold contents. These are easily adjustable and can be taken off if desired. Also I'm not sure if the stock cabinet has a metal back that is magnetic but if it does or you can somehow attach the small metal pieces you might be able to add additional cabinet latches like I did to mine. One in each corner makes the door really secure but still able to be opened with reasonable force. Granted my door is very rigid as it is a real mirror with a metal back. If the stock cabinet door is flimsy you might want to start by trying one magnet in the middle so it doesn't flex too much when opening as one magnet still holds while the other releases.

I find that every time I store something in there, like an electric razor or a box of pain patches, they end up on the floor sooner or later.

Sometime in transit, the door opens and anything in there comes out. There are no little round spaces to hold compression rods and I do not see a door latch anywhere. The little compression clip does not hold the door shut.

Presently we are not using this valuable space because nothing is safe there.

Anyone have any good ideas of how to secure this door and keep things inside?
Made our cabinet right after bringing trailer home . We do have the extra ply in the wall to screw into but you could also just use a backer board on dinette wall . But you have the newer trailer with cabinet . A strap would hold door shut . Velcro would work . Inside cabinet also to hold items in place doing a search for others ideas can help . Pat

We added a handle on the door. This gives us something to pull on in the center where the catch is located, and we added a short bugee cord with a hook that we can attach when we are hitting the road. We use Walmart plastic bins on the inside as others have shown.

Also, I should mention that we reversed the door swing from the factory. We prefer the hinges on the shower curtain side and to pull on the side away from the shower curtain interference.

After reading this thread I’m no longer disappointed my 2015 17B came without one! I use a couple of those baskets that attach to the wall with suction cups and one might very, very rarely fall off in cold weather. I remove them while showering.

  1. Open the cabinet door, remove all stuff in the cabinet
  2. Remove the four screws holding the cabinet to the wall (they're obvious)
  3. Pull out the entire cabinet with door attached (peek just to see what's in that space behind the bathroom wall )
  4. Rotate the cabinet 180 (upside-down) so hinge is on the opposite side
  5. Reinsert cabinet in opening
  6. Reinstall the four retaining screws
Bob's yer uncle, 'reversed' door swing!

(yep, it's all the same inside and out when 'upside down' )
