New 17B without kill switch

After having our 2016 21 with the dreaded kill switch located inconveniently at the rear dinette, our new 2021 17B has nothing! I got tired of accidentally shutting power off at the worst time so I relocated the switch to the inside of the pump compartment ( after I replaced the tiny switch with a larger version). Now I would like to install one in my new 17B but am unsure of what to do, as there's no wiring diagram. I have solar with the solid state battery. Anybody have a diagram to share?

EDIT - See 16:18 on this E17B base features walkthrough video - there it is! With your battery / solar options the location might differ slightly, but it's there somewhere on the cable between the (+)battery post and the power center.

You just disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Or, the positive, I forget. No switch needed.
I'm assuming the battery is still located on the back bumper.

The battery disconnect switch was originally put in for models in which the battery cables were hard to reach. With the traditional 17' battery location (in a box or two outside at the back) a cable can just be disconnected, as already suggested.

It isn't a solid-state battery; perhaps you meant AGM (a customer-supplied option possibility), or lithium-ion (a factory option). Whatever the battery is, if it's in the stock location the battery type doesn't need to change the switch configuration.

Either one works, but it's safer to disconnect the negative, because accidentally touching it and something "grounded" to the frame is harmless.

Thank you for your replies. I wasn’t thinking about removing the negative terminal. I want to move the lithium battery from its easy to steal location on the back bumper and install it inside the u shaped dinette and was looking for the switch. Yes, I saw the switch in other models but was disappointed that my 17B didn’t have one. Lots of wires but no schematic! Anyway, battery disconnected, but solar power is putting voltage out, so I will still install a kill switch.

Unhappy

Shame on me for trusting and pointing to ETI's currently linked model-specific information resource for even a basic item like this. I won't repeat that mistake.

It's one of the reasons I've stopped answering most questions. A LOT has changed since 2014. The kill switch in Ten Forward doesn't look like the one in the video, NOR is it in that location.

I try to remember to look at the profile of the individual asking the question. That helps sometimes to know if my info would be appropriate.

If you add a battery disconnect switch that also disconnects the solar controller, be sure to add an additional switch between the solar panel & the solar controller, and always shut it off first before disconnecting the solar controller from the battery. This is documented in the GoPower manual. Most solar controllers do not like being connected to panels without a battery connection.

Yes, with care, in this case the OP's sidebar profile info doesn't match the trailer stated in their inquiry while ETI video explicitly does (or at least claims to).

I missed your post because in my distracted post-while-watching-TV mode I had started my first reply before your post appeared. Good info about the stock switch... and the information about how to disconnect battery cables is still applicable if one wants to do that.

I sold my 2016 21 in June and just got back from the border with our 2021 17B. Love the new colors and the 2 burner stove. Haven't had time to update my info.

I am adding a solar disconnect breaker between the panels and the controller, simple and not expensive

Here is a photo of my solar panel disconnect (and a Victron 100/30 solar controller):
The disconnect is a 30 amp breaker located just above the inverter.
