New 5.0 , first night out, no hot water

We picked up our 5.0 today in Sumas and drove straight to Oostema Farm in nearby Linden for a two day shakedown stay. We have the propane only hot water tank. I attempted to start it today before checking to see if the bypass valves were turn on, my bad. After getting no hot water for 30 minutes, I checked the valves and found I was in bypass mode. I did notice some heat around the tank area. Now the tank is full, I verified at the pressure relief valve. But now the monitor panel switch stays lit, doesn't seem to be attempting to fire up. Did I damage the water heater with my empty tank attempt?

I do have full propane tanks and verified gas was getting thru by lighting stove top burners.

If water is not leaking it is a good sign it did not melt the tank! Try resetting the LP by pushing the button on the black cover accessed from the outside hot water tank hatch. I believe the manual has a picture of it. Good luck.

Thanks, yeah, I dug out the manual and found the explanation of the reset switch. We're good!

An excellent lesson has been demonstrated here, your owner's manual is your best friend and should be read completely before using your new Escape.........
