New season reminder

Getting the trailer ready for camping and was checking tire pressures including the spare (as someone mentioned). I was removing the tire cover, and surprise, a new wasp nest just starting
So just a reminder to be a bit cautious checking the spare after the winter, who knows what you may find lurking in there.

Yikes! I imagine many a small critter could make shelter in there.

Years ago in my hometown the early morning radio personality my folks listened to was a gentleman named Howdy Roberts. Every day, Howdy would let people know the day of the week and the date. He would then follow that with encouragement to check the expiration date on their drivers license. Putting an Escape twist on old Howdy, here's another new season reminder : Check the expiration date on your passport if you're planning to attend any rallies in a country where you do not reside.
My son in law checked his the other day and it had expired. Wasn't a big deal but got me thinking about it and I checked mine from my 2010 trip to Ontario. Still ok. You can beer me later.

You also need to make sure it's not going to expire fairly soon either. Some countries won't let you in if your passport is going to expire within say the next 6 months. I'm sure that varies with each country, but yeah, don't wait.

Good point. They want to make sure that you will be leaving again while still legal to travel, to avoid accumulating unwanted permanent visitors.

I went to Amsterdam once without enough advance notice, and had to do it with only a month or so left on my passport - 90 days was the recommended minimum. I was prepared with all sorts to documentation to show that I would be out of there again in on a few days, but in the end no one cared... they barely glanced at my passport. Better prepared than stuck!
