New (used) owner needs help!

Howdy! I recently purchased a 2010 19’ Escape. I am loving it and have been scrubbing and cleaning like crazy! Now that I erased prior owner’s DNA I’m preparing for my first trip this weekend. I have some questions I’m hoping I can get some advice on.

I’m trying to find a water pump switch so I can use water from my fresh tank. Is there one?

For remaining questions please look on attached pics. (I’m still on interior).

Thanx!

I'll try to help here, the 1st picture appears to be an inverter switch where your 12v is converted to 120v, you will need to determine if only one outlet is impacted or all the trailer outlets. The2nd picture is an accumulator tank that has been disconnected from use. The 3rd picture is your e-z- winterizing hook up, once you bypass the water heater via the valves shown, you inset the time in a gallon of anti freeze and turn on the pump. You then go around to every faucet and turn on hot and cold until antifreeze comes out. Looks like the stereo has been removed, so remove the black case in e 4th picture, the 5th looks like the speaker hookup to the stereo and the cable hookup for the tv. The 6th and seventh looks like by pass switches propane detectors and unknown. Notice the label on the 120v plug that says inverter, that means something plug in there will be hot when the inverter is activated, try a lamp and see if it works.

First picture is for an inverter. Prowatt marine inverters. Nice unit, hope you stil have one.
Second was your water pump plumbing.
Third no clue, maybe asked the previous owner if you can? But appears to be more missing plumbing. EDIT, Jim is probably right, we do not have such items down here where I live.
Four probably some radio attachment.
Five no clue either.
6 maybe a disconnect for the inverter outlet and the last maybe a way to shut off the fart detector AKA propane alarm. I have a switch on ours but it is one that is illuminated red when off green when on.

Yes, second pic looks like a water pump that is not hooked up and the third looks like a water shut off for the onboard water tank. You mention that you are looking for a water pump switch so you can use your on board water but it looks like the pump maybe disconnected. The switch for the water pump is on a panel that is usually mounted on one of the upper cabinets with the tank fill and batterystatus lights. Water should flow when their is water in the tank, the switch is on and the faucet is opened.

Oops, my mistake, the water pump in #2 has been disconnected, it is not an accumulator tank. Where did you acquire this unit and from whom? It looks to be stripped down of some basic items.

Pic 3: The tube may be inserted into an anti freeze jug for winterization. The notches are to keep the tube from getting stuck on the bottom of the jug. The attached hose should go to a 3 way valve just in front of the pump.

Last pic looks like someone might have installed a switch to turn off the propane alarm given its location right above the propane alarm. Should not be switched but I do know that some people have put switches in due to false alarms. When the alarm is on a small green light should be visible on the alarm if it is working properly. Try hitting the test switch to see if it works when the switch is in the on as well as the off position.

Thanx for info so far!

I found the water pump switch on monitor board. I wonder if I can get that pump hooked back up...

Does anyone have a picture of the stereo with that part in it?

Is the attached photo the inverter you were mentioning?

If you contact ETI I'm sure they can provide you with a E19 classic plumbing diagram for the proper tubing needed to get your pump working and your water system functioning.

Pic 4 (stereo): the empty slot is a place to set an iPod or older iPhone. Those stereos were set up to plug into an iPod, there should be a plug hanging in the slot. If you look in the drawers you might find a remote for the stereo. Also, the stereo plays dvds, there should be a yellow (video out) jack near the tv location. Picture comes through the tv, sound through the stereo.

The TV connections are not quite clear because there is a cable plugged into one of them, so I can't see what kind of connection it is.

Likely, the top right connection goes to the antenna (so you run a coaxial cable from there to your television's tuner input).

The bottom left connector is yellow and of the "RCA" or "phono" style, so it is probably a video output from the DVD player (that Jensen unit that looks like a car stereo). To watch a DVD, run a video cable from that connector to the video input of your television, and listen to the audio over the trailer's speakers.

The gray things on the pump in the second photo are adapters to allow the connection of hoses. They are screwed onto the pump. You need to install the missing plumbing, but at least you already have those adapters, which are only commonly used with RV water pumps like this. They are hose barbs, so they work only with flexible hose (like that clear hose with braided reinforcement in the next photo), but connections to the pump should be made with flexible hose so that's the right fitting.

When you turn on the pump switch on the monitor panel does the pictured pump run or is the pictured pump an extra pump to draw water out of an external container with the container pick up hose in pic 3?

That jack is one of the three shown in the next (5th) photo.

Good question. Without more information we are throwing darts at this. It looks like someone really got into this plumbing and I'm not sure it is all good. Two things that I notice is that a cold water line goes down through the floor in pic 3. That is odd. The only line that I'm aware of that should go through the floor is the tank suction line that goes right to the pump. Also the pump in pic 2 appears mounted on passengers side if I'm looking at it right. The stock pump on a 2010 19 is on the drivers side.

Could that be a drain? It looks like there are two lines going through the floor, one from the cold line before the water heater (that could be the drain) and the other possibly connected to the winterizing hose and the pump suction, with the details just out of the image to the right.

I realize that Escape doesn't put in drains any more, but I think they did in 2010.

Yes! You are right. My bad. That would be the low point drain.

I've never seen diagrams available from ETI. I took an Oliver diagram and modified it to show the BASIC representation of a 2010 19's fresh water plumbing components. This is diagrammatic only. Do not rely on it to accurately show valves or actual routing.

Wow, someone did a number on that water system. Why is a mystery.

1. Facing the water pump, the fitting on the left is the inlet.

2. The inlet supply hose is clear and comes up through the floor.

3. The outlet on the right side connects to the blue pipe via a tee. After that tee there is another one that runs up to the city water intake and then the winterizing valve.

4. The pipes from the winterizing valve are: one vertical red to the top of the hot water tank and one blue to the cold intake on the bottom of the hot water tank.

Shouldn't be too hard to re-connect things properly.

You can see some of the items in my photo but it's different than yours because of my accumulator tank installation.

Ron
