Non-stick storage

Picked up a couple T-Fal Professional 12.5 inch non-stick fry pans at Canadian Tire today. On sale for $35 ( they claim regular $99 - B.S. ).
Anyway, these were recommended by America's Test Kitchen as best value, since non-stick only lasts a couple years or so.

Nothing else to do in the rain and wind.

Except, come up with something to store non-stick in for travel so the non-stick surface isn't destroyed. I'm open to ideas.

There are materials, available by the roll as household shelf liner or "bar mat" or drawer liner, which are made as a thick and soft mesh (to be non-slip or to allow glassware to drain). Squares of this stuff between non-stick pans protect the surfaces. Thin foam sheet sold as packing material (at storage business or U-Haul) works too.

I store my extra kitchen towels between pots and pans. Works for me, YMMV

I also use towels, even paper ones, however when packaging some dishes to transport across the country, I found this stuff at Staples, although it was available in smaller quantities than listed here or at the Staples website - it was a package of about 200 10"X10" sheets for around $25.00. Anyway, they are thin sheets of expanded foam that are great for going around & between breakable things.

ummm ..... about "non-stick " ....... would that be the newer ceramic ( actually way old ) or the T-fel or teflon variety ..... which one should not have a Canary in the same room where one cooks with it ?

Google Teflon. You have to heat it to 260 degrees Celcius to have any effect on it. At that point, your omelet is ashes.

If you don't have extra towels to use between, you could get some remnant felt material at a fabric store and cut it up to suit your needs.

Here is a picture of the red spongy shelf liner we cut into squares and put between each pot and pan. We also use our kitchen towels for that like Donna.

I find with ss cookware, if you pour water on it while it is still hot, it cleans as good as non stick and you do not need to worry about any side effects and you can stack it without protection or worry.
